Tyree first took out his phone and dialed Ken's number. The line was immediately picked up.

Ken said, "Hello."

"I need to do us a favor, Dad," Tyree said as he took two bags from the closet.

"What's the matter?" Ken inquired. His voice was a little concerned.

Tyree explained, "I think Luca's medication stopped working because he's in heat." Ken responded, "Get the kids ready," and "I'll send Adrian over." Tyree ended the call and packed the bags.

There was a knock on the front door just as Tyree finished packing Elena's bag and getting her ready.

Luca yelled through the door, "We can't have visitors."

"It's most likely Adrian," Tyree said. "I called Dad and informed him," he explained.

"You should go, too," Luca said.

"No, my place is here with you," Tyree stated emphatically. Tyree headed to the front door and opened it. "Hi, sorry for causing you trouble," he said.

"It's no trouble," Adrian said. "You take care of Luca while I wake up Alicia," he said.

Adrian took the bags and Elena, who was in her carrier, and went to Alicia's room. He lowered the carrier and opened the door.

"Wake up, pumpkin," Adrian said as he turned on the light and approached the bed.

"Is that you, Daddy?" Alicia asked groggily.

"This is Adrian," he said. Alicia sat up, rubbing her eyes.

"Where is Daddy?" Alicia inquired.

Adrian replied, "With mommy." "Mommy isn't feeling well, so daddy is staying," he explained. Then Alicia noticed the bags and Elena.

"What are we doing?" she inquired.

Adrian explained, "I'm taking you to see Grandpa Ken and Grandpa Carl."

"Are we going to stay there?" Alicia inquired.

"For a few days while daddy looks after mommy," he explained.

Tyree walked over to Adrian's car as Adrian strapped Alicia and Elena into their seats.

"Thank you once more for taking them," he said. "I apologize for not being able to attend," Tyree said.

"Things happen," Adrian explained. "We'll look after them," he said. Tyree said through the window, "Be a good girl and help out."

"OK, daddy," she said, "I hope mommy gets better." Tyree waved as they drove away and went inside. When he got to the bathroom, he heard Luca's cries. The scent of lilacs aroused Tyree when he opened the door. Luca lay butt naked on the floor in front of him, trying to relieve the pain with his fingers.
