Chapter 27

Tyree took Alicia to school while Luca tended to Elena. After Elena was fed, she was put into her carrier because they planned on breaking down and loading everything into the U-Haul. Carl and Ken said they would be there around noon. Luca picked up the carrier and stepped onto the porch when he heard the car.

"Welcome back," Luca said.

"Hello, Love," Tyree said. He stepped up and kissed Luca on the lips. Tyree walked back to the car and opened the trunk. He came back with two empty boxes. Luca opened the front door and followed him inside.

Tyree put the boxes down on the living room floor and headed back outside for two more boxes. By the time Tyree was done bringing in boxes, there was a pile on the floor.

"I'll start packing up the kitchen," "You start packing up the bedroom," Tyree said. Luca sat Elena on the bed and went to the closet. He took everything off the hangers and folded them neatly. He opened a box and placed the clothes inside. Once the closet was empty, Luca emptied the dresser. Luca put the top on the box, got a black marker and labeled it. main bedroom.

Luca grabbed another box and began packing Elena's baby items. He only left out what was necessary for the day. Luca paused long enough to rub his growing stomach.

"Are you okay?" Tyree inquired via the link.

"Yeah, your kids decided to interrupt me by kicking my tummy," Luca replied.

"How's the packing going?" Tyree asked.

"Just finished packing up Elena's stuff," Luca said. "I'm sleepy," "I'm going to rest for a few moments," Luca said.

Luca put Elena in the middle of the bed and then lay down beside her. As he closed his eyes, Luca heard Tyree say, "Okay, love you," via the link.

"I love you, too," Luca said before going into a deep sleep. Luca heard voices coming from the living room as he slowly opened his eyes. He turned his head and found Elena not beside him.

"Ty, where's Elena?" Luca linked and asked.

"She's with me," Tyree said via the link. "I didn't want to wake you," he said.

"Are my dad and Ken here?" Luca linked back.

"Yea, they just arrived," Tyree said. Luca washed his face and brushed his hair before heading into the living room.

Luca sat down on the couch beside Tyree, who was playing peek-a-boo with Elena.

"Let's break down the crib first," Carl said to Ken, who walked into the bedroom.

"Then we can break down Alicia's bed," Ken said. Then, Tyree rose from the couch, walked up to them, and said, "Here's the key to the house," handing them a silver key. The beds that were being taken were loaded into the u-haul. Then the boxes were loaded. They did a double check around the house, then stepped into the vehicle. Luca and Tyree followed them in their car.

Luca figured it all out in his head. The house was $500,000. They had $50,000 in donations. Their original house was worth $200,000. That would mean they need to pay $250,000 to fully pay off the house.

"How much do you think we'd get from the furniture?" Luca asked.

"I'm not sure, hon," Tyree said. "We'll just have to wait and see," he said.

"Well, with everything minus the furniture, we'd still owe $250,000," Luca said.

"You did all of that in your head?" Tyree asked.

"Yea, it's easy," Luca said. "I'm good with numbers," he said.

"Smart and cute," Tyree said. "My type of boyfriend," he said,

Luca blushed hard and hid his face with his hands. "Don't hide, babe," Tyree said. "I want to see those beautiful hazel eyes of yours," he said. Luca uncovered his face and smiled at him. When everyone reached their destination, Luca grabbed the diaper bag, picked up Elena, and went inside. The three men unloaded everything, starting with the boxes. The beds in the rooms that didn't have to be kept were moved into the garage.

"It's almost time to pick up Alicia," Tyree said, glancing at his watch. "I'll be right back," he said, grabbing his keys and kissing Luca goodbye.

Carl and Ken set up the crib and changing table in the bedroom that was near the master bedroom. The box labeled "baby" sat in a corner. Luca unpacked the box that held their clothes and put them away.

"For being only one floor, this place is massive," Carl said.

"I have an idea," Ken said. "Whatever furniture that is not needed, we take back with us to sell," he said.

"Okay, that sounds fair," Luca said. The front door opened and Alicia and Tyree walked in.

"Hi Mommy," Alicia said, hugging Luca.

"Go and pick out a room for yourself," Tyree said. Alicia's green eyes lit up, and she was gone in a flash.

Carl followed Alicia to make sure that she didn't get lost. She stood in a bedroom that was near the mudroom and glanced around.

"I want this one, Grandpa," she said.

"Okay, let's get your bed set up," he said. They went into the front of the house and found Ken talking with Tyree.

"Our granddaughter picked out her bedroom," Carl said.

"Alright, let's set up her bed," Ken said. When they reached the bedroom, Ken said, "Stand in the spot where you want your bed." After a few seconds, Alicia stood in front of a window.

Ken nodded and left with Carl to retrieve the toddler bed parts. When they returned, they sat the bed lengthwise in front of the window. Tyree came in while they were in Alicia's room.

Tyree explained, "Alicia wants a Frozen theme."

"Don't say anything to her," Ken said. "We'll look for something to give her for Christmas."

"She'll be thrilled," Tyree said.

"Don't worry," Tyree said. "My lips are sealed." They finished setting up the bed, then went into the living room. After the U-Haul was filled with the furniture that wasn't needed, the men went home. It was a good day for everyone.
