———

The next morning, our three retarded heroes met Herald and Karen at the Eastern gate of the city.

"Hey guys, we are here!" He waved by the time he got his sight of them.

When the three walked towards them, they realized that Herald and Karen were not alone.

They were accompanied by five people. One of them was Stella, Karen's bodyguard, and the other four were a group of men they had never seen before.

Herald noticed their confusion and introduced them, "My apologies, these four are known as the [Scarlet Prince], E-rank Adventurers. Father contracted them to accompany us in today's mission. Don't worry, they are trustworthy."

They all nodded in understanding.

This group had two combatants, one of them is Rank-3(Lv.21-30) while the other is at the Realm of Master, a Rank-5(Lv.41-50) Individual, the third was at Rank-3, and the fourth one was at the peak of Rank-4(Lv.40), just one step away from breaking through Rank-5.

It was obvious they were an impressive group.

At that moment, the leader of the men spoke. "Young master Herald, you tell us nothing about three more people.

Herald was startled before smiling apologetically. "Sorry about it. I just told Mr. Moo about today's hunt last night, so I did not have time to notify you."

"...I'm sorry, young master, but the three of them are not in our contract. Besides, look at them, these boys are not even wearing armor or weapons and they brought one ungraded golem with them. Do they think it's a game? I don't want to carry a bunch of burdens during the hunt."

Delirious frowned as his eyes through his mask became dark. "Yo, do you have a problem with us?"

"We just don't like to babysit inexperienced children."

Delirious expression turned even darker, but before he could attack, Moo raised his hand, pushing onto Delirious' chest, stopping him.

"Herald, we will leave if it's a bother."

"It's not necessary," Herald furrowed his brows. He then looked at the leader of the men. "Garold, I can guarantee that they are as strong as me. You don't have to worry that they are a burden."

"I understand, but my men will not care about their safety. I will only protect you and young miss Karen if something happens."

Herald frowned deeply, but in the end, he looked at the three with a helpless expression. Marcel in a spot between Delirious and Moo scoffed inwardly seeing this farce.

"Don't worry, we understand."

In fact, Garold's words were not baseless. In truth, watching some three young man coming to the hunt wearing very strange clothes, without wearing armor, and weaponless, anyone would think that they came here to play, or any some shit and giggles these retards do. Moreover, they were being followed by one manaless and ungraded golem that could be easily defeated by a mere Rank-2.

But the three had the feeling that Garold would have found an excuse to go against them regardless of it.

Marcel moved his gaze between Herald and the men briefly before falling deep in thoughts.

After that, the group of ten departed.

Their destination was a forest two kilometers away from the city. According to Herald, they were going to hunt a peak rank Tempest Fennec(Lv.40). It was a Magic Beast specialized in speed that had migrated near the city recently. Apparently, it had killed some adventurers already.

Moo and Basically did not care much about it. In the end, they knew that hunting the beast was not the main part of today's trip.

Instead, they cared more about the hidden dangers of it.

Meanwhile with Delirious, by the time Herald mentions hunting down a Tempest Fennec, a thought of an image struck him.

'Are we gonna hunt a Jolteon? Man, I should've craft or tell Terroriser to download some addons to give us some pokeballs.'

"Marcel, I heard you three were attacked last night." Karen suddenly asked with a worried expression.

Marcel looked at the Count's daughter and nodded. "It was a group of black-dressed men. Unfortunately, we did not know anything about their origins."

While saying it silently, Herald already heard it thanks to his superhuman hearing, hearing it puts on an angry expression. "It must have been the guys that attacked my sister. They probably wanted to take revenge because you and your friends foiled their plans. Fortunately, you guys were strong enough to repel them."

"It was my fault," Karen smiled guiltily and looked at Marcel and the others. "Sorry guys, I caused you problems."

"Don't worry about it, miss Karen. It's not your fault." Marcel smiled gently and shook his head. "Besides, I knew about the dangers when I decided to help you, so you don't need to feel guilty about it."

Karen looked at Marcel in a daze. One second later, she blushed deeply and looked at the ground.

It was unnoticed by Marcel, he turned his head from everyone's direction and his gentle face was nowhere to be seen.

'Don't think about it, man. You're 32 and she's 17, not to mention you've already got a girlfriend.'

While Marcel says in his mind, he suddenly felt shivers down his spine and right down to his ass. He slightly looked behind him and saw his friends looking at him, and he didn't need to question as he fully knew they thought the same thing as he is. As they continued to look at him with mysterious glares, he felt so nervous and a slight fear, mostly from Delirious. Like two terrifying beasts will pound on him if he makes the wrong move.

Meanwhile, Brock, turns his glare from Marcel after giving him a warning, he then observes the siblings' expressions.

'It looks like Karen is not aware of anything, huh.' He thought to himself after seeing Karen's reaction. He was sure that Karen's concern was not feigned.

Herald, however, was lying through his teeth.

Moo just needed to observe his face carefully to notice the minute changes in his expression and eyes that revealed he was not telling the truth.

While it's only for professionals that could read faces, it seems abit easy even his not one.

To be honest, the Count's plan was truly ingenious. Anyone else would have been fooled thinking that the culprits were the men that attacked Karen and that the Count was on their side.

After all, it was true that he and his friends had offended an unknown party several days ago. It was normal if he and his friends were attacked as revenge.

Unfortunately, they did not know that the three had seen through their plot long ago. Although none of them were showing a sincere look in their faces, they were smiling disdainfully in their heart.

Back to Marcel, he looked behind Karen and saw that Stella was looking at him with an expressionless look. She shook her head slightly and sighed. It was obvious that she had realized that the three were acting, following Herald's script and acting as though they knew nothing.

However, in the end, Herald was the one being fooled.

The group could not use horses or Land Dragons to travel because the horses could not go inside the forest, Land Dragons however could easily run through forest obstacles with relative ease, however, the only problem they aren't using Land Dragons because it was only for military uses, using them for normal and civilian task would have a huge chance the creature could go berserk and kill anyone, even killing their own rider. Of course they tamed it but that doesn't mean their natural instincts will completely go away.

Fortunately, two kilometers were not long for them, so they ran through the plains at moderate speed and arrived at the outskirts of the forest in less than 5-8 minutes. Of the group, only Karen was carried by Stella because she was obviously the only one who has normal human physical characteristics.

Once they arrived at the forest, they decided to rest for a while.

In truth, none of them were tired, but one of the most fundamental rules when you hunt magic beasts is to remain in top condition as much as possible, so a short rest was necessary.

After they rested for half an hour, the group stood up and got ready to enter the forest.

But at that moment, something happened.

"You three, stay behind, it would be bad if you get scared when you see a monster." One of Scarlet Prince's men looked at Delirious' group and mocked them.

"You are right." Said another man. "Children are not suited for this kind of place. If you want safety, you just need to go back to your mommys."

Seeing the mocking look in the man's face, Delirious frowned. He then smiled slightly through his mask and walked towards him.

"Oh? You have the balls to talk down to us like that, huh?"

"Of course, you little freak. You and your little friends are not quite capable of defeating one killer bunny. I also have a skill that I can tell how many skills a person has but none of you have one, I bet none of you even cast a 1st tier spell! Go back to the dirty streets where you all commoners came from, mongrel." He began to laugh alongside his other friends.

"Is it so? ^_^ " With a smile on his face, Delirious clenched his fist and then just like what Basically did, his emotions caused him to activate his new skill he wasn't aware of.

{Aura of Despair - 10%}

At this exact moment, an indescribable yet terrifying aura appeared around Delirious, the aura itself that came out of Delirious seems like dark tentacles came out from him.

With this, everything stood at a standstill.
