Catching a Jolteon
The group advanced gradually in the forest. The Scarlet Prince Adventurers walked ahead, scouting the path and searching for signs of the Tempest Fennec.
Meanwhile, our lovable idiotic heroes were at the back of the group.
After Delirious attacked one of the Scarlet Prince's members, the atmosphere of the party had been tense. Scarlet Prince's men were constantly shooting menacing looks to the boys. Karen was doing the same, but with worried looks instead of menacing ones.
At that moment, Herald approached the three.
"...Sir Basically, sir Brock, Sir Delirious, sorry for the trouble Harold's men caused. It was my fault. Next time, I'll make sure of contracting a better party. I hope this incident doesn't affect our friendship."
Brock snorted in disdain inwardly facing this fake apology, but he did not show anything in his face. Instead, he smiled and shook his head.
"Don't worry, I know it's not your fault, young master Herald. Besides, we don't care much about it, for us, they are not more than a joke."
"Yeah, unless they don't step out of the line. Or saying something racist." Marcel said, the last words he spoke, he said it in a very serious tone.
Herald frowned. For an instant, he felt as though something was wrong, but he could not put a finger on it. In the end, he blamed it on his imagination.
After Herald returned to his sister and Stella's side, Delirious snorted in disdain. "Blah, hypocrite. I don't understand why you guys still tolerate the bastard..."
"We've already explained to you the reason last night, Delirious." Marcel said with a shrug. "We need to know the reason behind this situation."
"You are right, but I truly want to kill him. I hate backstabbing bastards like him the most. People like him remind me of my high school days."
"It's not so easy, my friend." Brock said with a bitter smile. He could understand Delirious' feelings. When you trust someone completely, but that person betrays you, it's the worst feeling. Delirious felt one before back then, but his also not the only one gets betrayed, like their other friends.
(A/n: Not canon, Delirious is a private man, so we have no clue more about his life.)
But Brock knew he could not simply kill the son of the city lord. Not only because if he died now, he and his friends would be the most likely suspects, but also due to the consequences of it.
He and the others did not fear the Count in the slightest, but they all did not want to be wanted in this country yet.
No matter how he and the two thought about it, that was not a good idea.
Thus, even if they did end up killing Herald or the Count, they must do it without leaving behind any clue, so they won't be sus.
The group walked for a while. From time to time, they were attacked by magic beasts, but the strongest was just at the

"One-hit kill, again. You all seem like someone used to hunt beasts before."
"We are." Marcel said. "We have killed many more beasts than you think."

Herald nodded. He then looked at Marcel's Netherite sword with a curious light. "Your sword... is it a magic weapon, right? How much is its sharpness enchantment?"
"Magic weapon? No, but enchantment, absolutely. Sharpness? Yeah, maximum." Marcel replied without caring too much. Herald saw it and narrowed his eyes deep in thoughts.
'{Sharpness 1000} that I've downloaded long ago, and a ton of other broken enchantment shits.' Marcel also thought.
After almost half an hour walking, one of Garold's men stopped in his tracks. One second later, he raised a hand.
Understanding the signal, the entire group stopped and fell silent. The man acting as a scout closed his eyes and concentrated on the sounds of the surroundings using his unique skill 『Echolocation』.
Almost three seconds later, he opened his eyes with a grave look.
"It's here! Protect Miss Karen!"
Almost instantly, a shadow jumped from the trees at fast speed!

The shadow moved incredibly quickly. One second, it was in the branch of a tree, and in the next second, it was in front of the weakest member of the group, Karen.
But before it could touch her, a dagger suddenly appeared in front of its eyes.
It was Stella!
At some point, she had instantly disappeared from the group's perception, only to reappear when her dagger was to stab the Fennec Fox looking creature.
The Tempest Fennec's fur stood up. Its black eyes shone with a surprised glow and its body tensed up.
Facing the unavoidable attack, lightning surged out of its body, engulfing it completely.
The next instant, its body accelerated suddenly, bypassing Stella's dagger and raising its claw to kill Karen.
But—

A barrier appeared suddenly, stopping its attack.
Karen turned pale. Despite the barrier on her necklace activating, the fact that the Tempest Fennec managed to reach her frightened the young girl.
"Damn beast!" Herald's expression turned ugly. He raised his sword and slashed towards the cat at unnatural speed, but the cat just jumped slightly, evading the blow.
Then, it looked at Herald with a mocking look.
Herald's expression darkened. He looked at Garold and bellowed. "Garold, what the hell are you doing!?"
"Sorry, young master." Harold apologized in a hurry and stood in front of Karen. At the same time, his three subordinates surrounded the Fennec Fox, blocking its escape routes.
The Fennec just narrowed its eyes. It looked at the group with a mocking-like expression.
"Holy shit, it definitely looks like a Jolteon, electricity type." Marcel said.
"Yeah, I definitely should've bought pokeballs." Delirious mumbled by his side.
The three observed the beast carefully. The Tempest Fennec was not big, around a German Shepherd size, but its body exuded powerful waves of energy enough to cause havoc in a city filled with 30,000 Demi-humans. It had lightning-like patterns all over its body, and its eyes showed wisdom seldomly seen in animals.

Just with a look, people knew it was the fastest of all of the E-rank Magic Beasts. Moreover, as a beast focused on speed, it could easily escape even if it could not win. Possibly could escape from a C-rank Adventurer, or a Rank-6 Individual at the Warrior or Assassin Class.
But Garold had come prepared to hunt this beast.
"Ronald, do it!" Garold shouted at one of his members.
"I know, boss!" One of the men nodded and sent mana into a Magic Item on his waist.
Instantly, the spell engraved on the Item was activated.
With a swoosh, a mana dome was activated, surrounding the Tempest Fennec together with the group.
"Alright!" Garold smiled. He then looked at the Fennec Fox with scornful eyes.
The Fox noticed that something was wrong. It immediately charged towards the barrier, trying to escape, but—
*Bam!*
The barrier just shook briefly, stopping the animal's escape.
"You fucking stupid beast, it's a restriction barrier! Even a B-rank needs a bit of effort to break it. And do you think we will give you that chance? Donny!"
Donny, the weakest man of the party and at the Rank-3, smirked. He aimed a Magic Bow on his hand towards the Fennec Fox and shot an arrow!
*Woosh!*
"Screech!"
The Fennec Fox evaded the arrow and looked at Donny angrily. It then rushed towards him, but Garold appeared in front of it and raised his shield!
*Clang!*
The shield and the claw clashed. But in the end, the shield won. The beast's speed is equivalent to a
"Screech!"
The Fennec cried in rage. It moved its body around the four men, trying to attack them, but the men cooperated flawlessly, attacking the Fox without rushing and slowly tiring it out.
After almost two minutes, the Fennec started to panic.
His attacks became wilder and wilder, but at the same time, they became less effective.
After a while, the Fennec Fox was injured for the first time.
It was just a scratch caused by a magic arrow from the Archer named Donny, but it was followed by another wound, and another, and another.
In despair, the Fennec Fox tried to find a way to escape. Unfortunately, the barrier stopped it from running away.
When the Tempest Fennec realized it was going to die, its eyes turned yellow brightly. It then looked at the group hunting it with hatred in its eyes.
If it was going to die, then it was going to bring some of its enemies with it!
So, when it saw a gap in the four men's formation, it did not hesitate to rush through it.
Straight towards the members of Team 6!
A shrewd light flashed through Garold's eyes. He looked back towards the three and smirked.
In an instant, the Fennec had appeared in front of the three!
"Are you serious?" Marcel smiled wryly towards Garold's petty tricks. He held his Netherite Sword in his hands and fixed his gaze on the Tempest Fennec, which is hard to look at because of its speed, but thanks to his skill 『Extreme Brain Capacity』, while the Tempest Fennec moved at a shocking speed, Marcel sees it moves a bit slowly, slow as a feather falling.
As Marcel was about to attack, someone suddenly moved first.
"I've got the biggest 'Snort'!" Delirious shouted before rushing towards the Fennec at superhuman speed.
'Damn it, did it again. I was suppose to say Sword but I just mistaken the word again, fuck.' Delirious thought, but he just continued to smile and drank a potion of Swiftness before taking a step forward. He clenched his Diamond sword with two hands.
When the Tempest Fennec reached him, Delirious swung his sword at everything he got.
"YEET!"
The next instant, the maniac human and the Pokemon like beast clashed.
*Boom!*
A terrifying shockwave struck the surroundings. The trees around them shook fiercely, and some of them were unrooted completely.
Then—
"Screech!"
The Tempest Fennec cried in pain. It was thrown back a few meters and crashed against the ground, leaving behind blood splattered on the floor alongside a very long cut in its abdomen.
Delirious smiled. He looks at his arm that held his Diamond Sword and notices his sleeves were torn apart by the shockwave he and the Fennec made.
The Tempest Fennec, on the other hand, walked out of the crater limping. One of its legs had been almost destroyed.
Delirious' friends whistled in admiration. Delirious' brute force was truly incredible. Even with little training, they somehow got stronger for some reason.
The Tempest Fennec stared at Delirious in fear. It could not understand how this human, a Rank weaker than him, was so strong.
Now that Delirious had heavily injured it, the Tempest Fennec was truly out of options.
Garold and Herald were dumbfounded, but before they could react to the situation, Delirious moved...
He kicked the ground and charged towards the Tempest Fennec with his Diamond sword in the air.
The Tempest Fennec panicked. It jumped aside hurriedly to evade the hit and retreated in panic.
But Delirious just smirked. He took out an Armor Piercing Revolver similar to Marcel's and fired.
*Bam!*
The Tempest Fennec was shot, the force of the bullet pushed it against the ground, creating another blood splattered around it.
But this time, the Tempest Fennec was unable to stand up again.
Delirious stretched his neck and looked at the Tempest Fennec and then at Garold's group with a disappointed look.
"So fucking damn weak, I was expecting more after I saw you guys having so much trouble fighting it. I guess you guys are weaker than zombies."
Harold's face flushed in embarrassment. Hearing Delirious' words, he was regretting allowing the Tempest Fennec to attack them.
In truth, the only reason Delirious finished it so easily was that Garold's group had already tired it out. Moreover, Delirious first blow was stronger than the animal expected, injuring it critically.
In a normal condition, Delirious would have found it very hard to win against it.
Delirious walked towards the animal on the ground and lifted it. The Fennec looked at Delirious with a pitiful and begging look.
"Aww, don't give me those puppy eyes 😞 " He stared at the Fennec with pitiful look before carrying it in a baby carry.

As Delirious held the Fennec, he patted its head, the Fennec noticed the human was sparring him. With it, it was starting to calm down.
Lightning Fennec: ^w^
"Awww, Delirious just got a new pet now!" Moo said.
"Hm, I guess our fantasy adventure will be even more interesting." BasicallyIdowrk nodded.
As the two, Scarlet Prince's party, Herald, and Karen watch Delirious kept patting the Fox, he then held its neck and—
*Crack!*
With an unpleasant sound, the animal died.

Everyone... literally everyone turned pale seeing that scene. Karen even felt she was about to throw up.
For an instant, everyone, including Delirious' friends themselves felt an immense fear towards Delirious indifferent expression when he killed the animal.
But within a second, Delirious just gave a confused look at the Fennec's corpse.
" O_o Hm? I expect there to be some experience or loot, isn't there? Nah, what a waste." Delirious then looked at Garold with a bored look before throwing the Tempest Fennec towards him.
"Thank me later." Delirious said it before looking at Herald. "Can we go back now? I'm pretty hungry."
"Y-Yes, of course." Herald stuttered briefly and replied. He then felt his skin crawl when he realized he was intimidated when Delirious turned his attention on him.
Herald looked at Garold and signaled something to him with his gaze. Garold nodded and removed the barrier.
So, with Garold carrying the Tempest Fennec's corpse, the group started their return trip.
As Delirious returned to his friends, they all gave him a serious look.
"Why the hell did you kill it?" Moo asked, not looking happy.
"Bruh, that... is so fucking cruel!" Basically shouted in anger.
"What? I thought there was some loot or stuff." Delirious defended.
"Delirious, we're not in a fucking game, remember that dipshit?" Basically says and signs in depression. "Fuck, you just tame an insteresting creature and now you just literally throw it away!"
"Oh."
"Whatever, let us go."
Like that, they left.
Four minutes after that incident, before they exited the forest, Brock's lips curved up.
"Guys, did you notice?"
"Of course, Brock, I've already noticed them a few minutes ago."
Marcel nodded. He then looked at Delirious, still not happy about that incident. "Delirious, it looks like today's main course is here."
"...so they attacked after all?"
Marcel nodded. "I can feel a group of people approaching us from all directions. They are very stealthy, but nobody can escape my spider tingling!"
Although the three detected the enemies, they did not show it in their faces. Marcel observed Herald and Garold carefully, and as expected, they were looking at each other, very sussy.
At that moment, Stella looked in Marcel's direction briefly. Marcel noticed it and innocently smiled at her.
Stella furrowed her brows and looked away.
In that tense atmosphere, the group continued walking, all of them waiting for the moment to strike.
Unexpectedly, though, the men did not attack immediately. Instead, they waited silently for their signal.
Where the exit of the forest finally appeared in sight, Karen smiled. "We're finally out, I'm already tired!"
As soon as her words sounded, like it was some sort of signal, the shadows descended from the trees.
