Illusion Training

Lian Ming returned to her house late at night.

After finding all the relevant information from Geng Ru, Lian Ming immediately contacted her comrades in Law Enforcement Department. She conducted a long discussion with them to prepare an efficient strategy to deal with the JRA base.

Lian Ming's husband, Hao Bai, was a bit worried as he waited for his wife. Hao Bai was merely a teacher at a nearby scholarly institute.

Lian Ming and Hao Bai were childhood friends and fell in love soon enough. After they became adults, they received the support of their families and married.

It was a happy marriage as both of them had secure careers.

Hao Bai didn't mind the fact that his wife was stronger than him. In fact, he was proud of his wife for her cultivation and supported her in every decision.

"…You are really late today. Something happened?" Hao Bai asked as he hugged his wife.

"Mhm~! Something really amazing happened. I can't tell you now since it's a pretty sensitive issue," Lian Ming spoke and returned Hai Bai's hug. She was relieved to be back home.

"Really? I guess it was a long day for you. I have prepared dinner for you. Eat it before coming to bed," Hao Bai spoke.

Lian Ming was truly delighted to hear those words as she softly murmured, "What would I do without you? You take such good care of me."

Hao Bai slowly caressed the back of her head while muttering, "I am the one who is lucky enough to be married to you."

"You have too low confidence in yourself," Lian Ming spoke as she slowly kissed Hao Bai. She gradually added, "I am at peace when I am with you, dear."

The two kissed a couple more times, and Hao Bai's hands acted a bit roguishly.

At this moment, Lian Ming saw a small kid leaving his room. She immediately pulled away from Hao Bai while heading towards that little kid, "Kang'er."

"Maa!" Hao Kang was nearly seven years old at this moment.

Lian Ming picked him up and asked, "Why haven't you slept yet?"

"I wanted to listen to a story before sleeping," Hao Kang responded with a childlike innocence in his eyes.

At this moment, Hao Bai spoke, "Kang'er, your mother is tired today. She can narrate a story for you tomorrow."

"Noo. Noo. I want to listen to a story today! I want to listen to a story now. I won't fall asleep without hearing a story today," Hao Kang spoke agitatedly with tears filling his eyes.

Lian Ming immediately rubbed her son's head and spoke, "Alright. Shh…Mother won't tell you a story if you start crying. You want to listen to a story, right?"

Hao Kang forcefully held back his tears and responded, "Mhm~"

"Good boy. Let me eat dinner, and then I will narrate a story for you. This will be a story of a dragon and the princess."

"Yay!" Hao Kang instantly cheered happily.

Lian Ming wondered how children could change their emotions so quickly. Hao Kang was clearly about to cry earlier, but now there seemed no end to his joy.

After returning home, Long Chen went out to grab Geng Ru's secret stash.

As Geng Ru was part of the Pill Tower in Suqui Town, he had acquired a massive fortune in the form of pellets and Ela (Zhongxing Kingdom's currency).

Geng Ru's secret stash was in a covert warehouse within the city.

Geng Ru bought this warehouse for the sole purpose of storing his savings. Unfortunately, he was forced to part with it before spending it.

In a sense, Geng Ru bought his life and freedom with this price so that it could be considered a good deal.

Long Chen's next target is to ensure that his supervisor in the JRA dies during the attack on the JRA base.

In JRA, each official has several informants. However, they never disclose their informants' information to other members, including their superiors.

This was to prevent other members from poaching their informants.

Thus, if Long Chen's superior in JRA dies, his identity as the JRA's spy in Suqui Prison will remain safe.

Unfortunately, this was easier said than done.

Long Chen's superior in JRA is a 3-Star Warrior.

Even though Long Chen was exceedingly confident of his battle experience, he was not very sure of defeating a 3 Star Warrior.

The Moonlit Phantasm True Scripture held two unique features. One was rapid cultivation at nighttime. The second was the ability to create illusions.

So, its ability to enhance battle power could only be considered slightly better than some mid-ranked techniques. Thus, it would be impossible for Long Chen to defeat or kill his superior in JRA.

Long Chen soon found Geng Ru's secret stash in the warehouse.

In this secret stash, he found nearly 110,000 Ela, three thousand Spirit Enhancement Pellets, two thousand Mental Augmentation Pellets, fifteen hundred Ardor Recovery Pellets, and a thousand Ardor Condensation Pellets."

Long Chen clicked his tongue in excitement.

He believed that by the time these supplies were depleted, he would already be a formidable 4-Star Warrior.

He planned to buy a large quantity of Blue Quartz Stone immediately. It was said that the energy in the power stones was much purer when compared to pellets.

Well, this was only a half-truth.

The regular pellets concocted in Pill Town of Suqui Town were merely low-mid grade in quality. But a peak-grade pellet possessed a much better quality of energy as compared to the energy in power stones.

Long Chen planned to use nearly 30,000 Ela to store all and buy all sorts of power stones.

However, storing all these pellets and those stones will be an issue.

Thus, he planned to use nearly 50,000 Ela to buy the highest grade of Spatial Ring available in Suqui Town.

It should be enough for Long Chen's current needs. He planned to save the rest of 30,000 Ela for emergencies.

30,000 Ela was a lot of wealth. Long Chen had a monthly salary of merely a thousand Ela per month. There were people with even lower wages, yet they managed.

The next day, news of an assailant attacking Cai Tai was spread. This news stated that the assailant was planning to rescue Geng Ru, but he was forced to retreat.

Lian Ming personally released this statement, so everyone had no choice but to believe her. Lian Ming's prestige was extremely high, and her words were naturally regarded as true.

Long Chen smiled slightly as he thought, 'She really did grab this opportunity to increase her prestige.'

'She must have started preparing a plan with the Law Enforcement Department to destroy the JRA's base in Suqui Town. They should have set up a basic outline of the plan, but gathering personnel for this mission secretly should take around one week.'

'I should also spend this week preparing my resources.'

The next day, Long Chen heard a piece of exciting news. The Mayor organized a banquet to present a gallant award to Lian Ming for her heroics in capturing Geng Ru.

This banquet was after seven days.

Long Chen had a knowing smile upon hearing of this banquet's date. He was very sure that this award ceremony would occur right after the attack on the JRA base.

Long Chen went to prison and behaved normally. Today, he utilized his illusion on his colleagues and noticed their reactions.

The illusions were all stationary. He created illusions of swords, multiple weapons simultaneously, fruits, a stationary, a table, a chair, and even a human.

The illusion of the human fell apart quickly because the size was far too large for Long Chen's current mental energy and Ardor. However, he was slowly getting the hang of it.

After he gets tired, Long Chen stops creating illusions and ingests a Mental Augmentation Pellet and an Ardor Recovery Pellet before continuing his practice.

In the night, Long Chen had already begun the next phase of his Illusion Training. They were creating dynamic illusions.

For now, he was creating a moving dagger. The movement of the dagger was limited to a single direction.

Long Chen couldn't control this dagger according to his wishes. He still required more skill to accomplish that.

It would take Long Chen nearly two hours to move the dagger in a straight direction. He then practiced reversing the direction. This time, he only required ten minutes since the concept remained the same.

For the rest of his night, Long Chen continued training in this aspect.
