Chapter 3: Rock Paper Scissors

(MAGNUS POV)

"Step right up! If any of you can beat me in this simple game I have created, you can get 1 whole silver coin! If you lose, you only lose 10 copper coins!" I shouted trying to gain people's attention.

For about 2 hours, nobody showed up, but eventually someone took the bait, since a silver coin was enough to have a decent meal in this city, Irf City.

From what I found out, 100 copper coins is enough to make a Silver coin, and 10,000 silver coins is enough for a Gold Note.

It was similar to countries on Earth, 100 cents to be a dollar but, there is only the 10,000 dollar note.

Kind of stupid, maybe something to look into in the future.

"What's the game?" A kid around my age came up to me and asked.

"It's simple really, there are three different hand gestures you can make, rock, paper or scissors. Rock beats scissors since it's too hard for the scissors to cut. Scissors beat paper since it can cut paper, paper beats rock since it can surround it." I explained while showing him the 3 different gestures.

The kid nodded in understanding, but still seemed a little hesitant. Looking at this, I calmly added," You can also use magic if it helps in this situation."

After saying that, he seemed to be sold, as he nodded.

"Right, before we start, we have to say Rock Paper Scissors together and then start. Ready? Say it with me.

Rock

Paper."

Right before we played out, I used the Emperor's Eye.

"Scissors!" The boy shouted as he played scissors, to which I played paper, essentially losing.

"YAY! I WIN!" Shouted the kid, attracting a lot more attention.

I sighed and acted disappointed, while paying him his money.

"Thank you mister!" He bowed, trying to leave, but like hell I would let him leave. Where's my soon to be addict going?

"Wait, why not try another round? Even if you lose, you're only losing 10 copper, you already made 90! Additionally, you can make 1 more silver coin." I said as I dangled one more coin in front of him.

He looked hesitant but still nodded his head.

After that began his downfall.

"Again."

"Again!"

"AGAIN!"

"AHHHHHH MY MONEY!" He screamed in annoyance.

Just like that, more and more people came and tried to beat me, this continued on for the day.

(After 3 days)

If I didn't have to lose sometimes I would have made way more.

I mean I did slowly introduce many more games, like Tic Tac To, where is the queen and so on.

I looked down onto my bag with a potion and sweat a little.

People really don't know how to control their addictions here. No wonder I also saw so many brothels around the place…

I'm already known as a scammer everywhere and barely anyone wants to play. I also won't be surprised if I get robbed soon.

Thank god I already bought what I needed.

No, first I need to awaken my aura. I already found out how to.

There is apparently a drug called 'Breaker' running around in the market, which forcefully raises one's Aura to rank 1, but this is through forcing their body to rank up putting immense strain on themselves.

Aura is an energy that Knights use, and it is contained in the heart. This drug causes aura to forcefully move into the heart without the necessary training, so even the slightest bit of additional training will cause the user to die.

That means they can never train again.

But, what I am about to do should work, even if it doesn't I can just become a magician.

I took the potion, and could feel it physically burning its way to my stomach, then moving to my heart through blood, causing my entire body to go numb.

Then, right as I was about to feel Aura in my heart, I opened my grimoire, and pressed summon Akashi.

All the Aura disappeared, but my body remained numb.

I was relieved since as long as my heart was not affected, I can still eventually recover.

Just as I calmed down, I could see him…honestly one of the coolest and coldest sports anime characters I know.

The captain of the Generation of Miracles, the most broken baller in that verse (I know there are some as broken stfu).

"Where am I?" He asked as he looked at me with calm yet menacing eyes.

"In another world." I said as I stood up from the ground.

As he opened his mouth, my grimoire opened up, and another red grimoire was suddenly summonsed and went to Akashi.

"I understand the gist of things. If you die, I die. As you grow stronger so do I…I just have to be loyal to you but I do not have to serve you…this thing still doesn't explain where I am at though." he said after a minute of what seemed like he was digesting information.

"We are in a city called Irf, in a knights and magic world, similar to the ones you have probably read in the novels in your world." I explained.

"Ah, I remember Tetsuya liked reading those types of novels." He nodded with slight understanding.

I then proceeded to tell him everything I know and introduced myself. I did not tell him I was from another world though. He then explained in more detail what he knew.

"I cannot do you any harm. Sure, I can control people to harm you, but if you die I die. If you get harmed there is a backlash depending on the severity. " He said, too, to which I nodded.

While not 100% trustable, since no one is, I have by my side probably the best ally I could ask for now.

"Akashi, I was wondering if you could sign up to become a magician. With your genius intellect you could definitely do great things as a mage." I explained.

"That makes sense, but have you thought about what you are going to tell people about our similar types of magic?

My grimoire only has the Emperor Eye as a page nothing else. My entire body is conditioned from my old world right so maybe it will be good if we both go into the Knights." He suggested. He was probably testing the waters to see if I was smart or not,

"Hmm, while your body is conditioned, it's basically useless at higher levels in this world. If we want to be great, to be frank, it's useless. Since you're way faster at learning than me, I suggest you become a magician.

As for the similar magic, I have a plan for that, I will summon another template. Depending on what I get, I will either apply for the Knights now, or in 6 months when there is a selection for people from outside the city." I explained my thoughts.

He nodded and then said," I think it's best we figure out how to get identities for ourselves."

"Ah right, this place doesn't have identity cards for commoners, so they won't be able to figure out that we are not from here." I added.

"Well that is stupid." He scoffed.

"Touche, more for us to take advantage of." I said with a small smile.
