Rain pouring down from the sky. Loud claps of thunder can be heard from afar.
A young man is having a bad dream akin to a nightmare, like the death reaper has slashed through his soul but the death reaper merges its slashed souls, his soul and a foreign soul, into one. Then, the young man wakes up from a loud boom of the lightning. He took a huge grasp of air, which made him coughed, and calm himself. Then, he look around the surroundings but,
"Aarrrggghhh!!! ARRRGGGGHHH!!!"
An abnormal sensation of pain made him hold his head so hard while crying in a sharping pain.
Floods of information injected into his brain. It was memories came from the unknown, something unusual thing to happen.
This young man's name is also "Alan", he has also the same features as the other "Alan", the young man just awaken from his bad sleep. The only difference is the supposed current "Alan" has bluish hair instead of brown, and he appears more younger than that person. Despite remembering some random memory, he still holding his head looks crazily painful.
An older woman breaks through the door, she looked like alarmed and concerned.
*Unintelligible voices* (Alan! What happened to you?!)
She seems to speak an unfamiliar language but Alan totally understand what she's talking about. She saw Alan holding his head like crazy and then she left Alan's room to take a medicine for headaches.
"Alan! Are you okay! Don't move. Here's medicine, please take it" The woman returns with the medicine and immediately hold Alan that grunts and cries in pain.
Alan gained awareness after minutes of agonizing pain on his head. He knew the woman that held him was his mother. A simple plain-looking woman with a slender body, muscles like was similarly trained by heavy load of works, Blue-haired and has the eyes of opal, her clothes is something looked like a typical medieval commoner woman.
"I'm okay, mother. What just happened to me? I dreamt a death reaper slashed his scythe through my body and the when I wake up, I feel too much pain in my head. I don't remember what exactly I dreamt."
But Alan didn't know why he happens to remember those memories, somewhat it just came to his mind without any signs and those memories doesn't belongs to him.
"What are these things am I remembering? I know things that doesn't makes sense." He scratches his as he ask himself.
"Then, get back to your bed and I'll cook a hot soup and a warm milk for you, Okay? Don't move out from your bed for now. Just rest." His mother leaves the room again to get some food for him.
Alan feels his head is getting pierced again, he held back his voice and he endured the pain. Several minutes later, the pain on his head disappeared like he didn't feel it at all and he feels his head is more lighter like he was floating somewhere empty.
It was raining outside. Alan peeks through the window to see the neighborhood in his village, he felt a sense of familiarity yet the place it too strange for him. He has a conflicting reminiscence of his past and the other memory's past at the same time.
He has a strong desire to read a book but he is illiterate. He never received an education during his childhood days, on the other hand, the other memory received an education to a modular-tutor program from the hospital he stayed in.
"What's an hospital? Elementary? Highschool? College? Science? Math? Politics? and the weird complicated names but I know their functions and purposes. Uhh let's remember what I can."
Alan unconsciously browse through the memories of what it seem belongs to another person.
When he swam through load of knowledge, he came to an understanding of a soul merging, a quantum theory that was never proven or will not be proven by the scientists who studied in this field.
He goes deeper and deeper in the sea of Alan's memories from Earth, he came back to senses and realize something.
"So in other words, the Alan of Earth merged with me? Did the gods do something to me? No, That's impossible. Even the goddess Theas might not even involved by it. It must be just a pure coincidence? Right?" He silently whispers it to himself.
"I read...No. Alan of Earth read a lot of so-called novels, manga, and watched anime and various movies. Based on the most 'Isekai' stories, you are supposed to meet a being closer to a god or goddess or even the actual god or goddess itself. You will be given abilities, so on and so forth." Alan tries to remember possible theories and necessary information from Alan of Earth. "That means, I have an ability skills, or suppose to have. We got to try it."
Then he shouted, "SYSTEM!". Nothing happened. "APPRAISAL!" he tried but nothing happened again. "SKILL BOARD!"...
He tried and tried again to call for a miracle screen but nothing happened.
"hmm. I shouted all it's possible names, calls, spells or whatever but nothing shows up."
He took a deep breath and relaxed his mind after those shocking revelations.
"Well, I guess I have to swim through Alan of Earth's memories. After that, I'll recall my memories if there's a kind of parallel interests. Wait, I don't speak in this way... whatever." Alan noticed his change of speech but he ignores it.
This is what Alan recalls the memories of Alan of Earth.
"Alan, 28 years old. His looks and features are similar to mine. Is this how I will look if I grow up? No no no, I had to look deeper. He came from the place called M***o M*n*la, P********s. His world called Earth...well, it is round after all, I wonder if it is the same round planet as my world. His childhood is normal but he is an abnormal kid, he's too genius, he can learn various things 120 times faster than a normal kid??? Oh my goddess Theas, that's too much for me. His genetic(?) disease was triggered 5 months after he becomes 10 years old. Spend 18 years in hospital. Later passed away." Alan felt a chilliest sensation on his spine he ever felt.
"I would not like to remember the last part again, too scary to think that I die like that. Did I just said 'I'? Anyways, he is a bookworm... a digital bookworm and a famous anonymous novel writer. I wonder if I can read and write written 'Fosstoka' language, I might sell these stories for money and become rich??? No no no, deeper." He felt conflicted as he drown himself into Alan of Earth's memories.
"That's all of it? But I don't recognize the people he met. Probably I need some kind of tricks to remember their vivid faces and names but it's better not to do so."
Alan felt the other Alan's life struggles. He theorizes that the Alan of Earth's soul and his soul are now totally fused to each other making him more emotional to the memories of his other self. Tears began to flow down from his eyes but he forcefully held back his cry because he don't want to be heard by his mother.
"Nah! That's it! Now, I'll recall my own memories. My name is Alan Sagea. I remember the priestess said our world is called Pratheua. Our village has has the same name as the village chief's family name. Well, I'm 14 years old. My childhood is not that great but I am happy with that. Never taught to read and write, but I received a verbal education thanks to the dominions of the goddess Theas..." Alan paused for a bit and feel bad because of something he couldn't understand. He lets out a huge sigh and felt dejected.
"Okay. I'll help mom. I feel much better now." He gets out from the bed and goes down to the stairs then called his mother but the food is already cooked and it is ready to be eaten. He smiled and cries a little bit of happiness.
"Thank you, mom. I'm glad I met you gu-" He unconsciously blurted some word but luckily, it wasn't in Fosstoka language and interrupts himself in the end of his sentence.
His mother heard it and she was stupefied. She look at her son and said, "What the heck are you saying?"
He replies, "No, it's nothing mom. Thank you for the food." and he proceed to pray to the goddess Theas. Afterwards, he tried not to remember anything about those memories for now.
