Chapter 28: Promise me you won't get scared

(Ravine POV)

"JJ, what are we doing here in the woods?" I asked. JJ then held both of my hands and made eye contact with me.

"Ravine, I feel like it's about time that I tell you the truth about me."

"Um…okay." I said.

"Please, promise me you won't run away!" He said.

"Okay, I promise." I said.

"Promise me, you won't get scared."

"I promise but you have to tell me what's going on first." I said.

JJ looked down and sighed before finally telling me what's on his mind.

"I'm a wolf, Ravine!"

"What?" I asked, completely confused.

"I am a werewolf and you're my mate."

"Your what?"

"My mate, my soul mate, my partner, my other half!" He said.

"JJ, I…I don't think I understand."

He walked further away from me and stripped off his clothes, which caught me off guard.

"Um…JJ?"

"This is who I am, Ravine and I am showing this to you because I want you to love me for who I am."

Within a blink of an eye, I was already facing a huge werewolf.

I was struck dumb of his transformation. I was just staring at the newly transformed JJ and I couldn't say one word.

The wolf then began walking towards me carefully. I think JJ was being gentle not to terrify me with his height and appearance. I was frozen in place and I couldn't move because the wolf's face is in my face right now. He looks like he was about to eat me but he actually did the opposite.

He began licking me which made me giggle in amusement.

"JJ, stop that!" I said.

I began stroking his furry head and he purred in my touch.

"You like that?"

JJ continued purring.

"You look familiar? Haven't I seen you before?" I asked.

I'm pretty sure I have seen this wolf before. After a long thought, it hit me. I finally remembered. This is the wolf that tackled me a long time ago in front of the boarding house. This is the wolf who licked and drooled all over me. What a bastard!

"You furry bastard, it was you!" I said as I continued patting his head.

He just purred under my touch.

"Do you really think I am going to reject you just because you are a wolf, JJ?" I teased. "Of course not!"

I kissed him on top of his head and he licked me one more time to show his affection.

"Ravine, can you hear me?" Someone talked inside of my head.

"Oh my God! Who's this?"

"It's JJ and it's called a mind link, that's why I can talk to you in your head."

"Really?"

"I told you we are mates, that's why we have this natural connection. Come, hop on my back and I'll give you a ride." JJ's voice said as the wolf lowered his back for me to hop on while I gladly obeyed.

As soon as we are both settled, JJ warned me.

"Hold on tight, Ravine!"

Before I can even ask back, the wolf started sprinting and I gasped in fear. It's so fast. It's running with a speed of like 140 km/h.

I asked JJ to slow down a bit.

"JJ, would you mind slowing down please?"

…But my request fell on deaf ears.

However, soon enough, I was enjoying it more than I should be. It was so much fun.

(JJ POV)

Ravine and I are sitting under the shade of the tree, with him between my legs and our hands intertwined.

"Did you enjoy riding me?" I asked.

"JJ, stop being gross." He said.

After coming out to Ravine, a huge sigh of relief just washed over me like a tidal wave. I came out to him and he accepted me with open arms and I could not be any happier. I kissed him on his head before pulling him closer to me.

"So does that mean your whole family are wolves as well?"

"Yup. My dad is actually the Alpha of our pack."

"Wow! How cool! So that means you're next in line to be the Alpha, right?"

"That's correct and you are going to be my Luna." I said.

"WHAT?!" Ravine exclaimed.

"You're going to be my Luna or my queen."

"JJ, how is your family going to take this?" He asked.

"Well, my parents already know about us and they are very happy but my pack isn't really too keen on the idea of having two male rulers but to hell with them, there's nothing they can do. They either cry about it or grow the hell up."

"JJ, I don't know if I want that kind of life." He said.

What he said kind of broke my heart.

"What?" I asked him.

"First of all, I do not want to force myself on people who dislike me. Second, I don't know if I can take the duty of the ruler as seriously as you expect me to. I just want to live a happy and simple life." He said.

"So you don't want to be a Luna?" I asked.

"Right now, I don't." He responded.

As hurtful as his response may be, Ravine is my mate and I have to respect his decision. I don't want to force him on something he cannot handle and he doesn't have the passion for.

Come to think of it, maybe living a simple life could give me and him what we really want. We could disguise ourselves in another country as a normal couple, blend in with the rest of the mortals and we won't have to deal with the distressing obligations and duties that we have to attend to as an Alpha and Luna.

After all, Ravine is a mortal so I think his decision would truly be for the best.

"JJ?"

"Yes?"

"I am not who you think I am as well."

"What do you mean?"
