We Will See About That, Yennefer Bellegard

Adolf Regardan was the first son of the Regarding royal family, and the elder brother of Gavaria's ruler, emperor Raman.

"You-"

"I have come with good intentions, brother," Adolf said, and without a single care in the world visible on his face, he walked towards one of the seats under the shed and sat down.

He raised his head and looked at Yennefer, a smile slowly spreading across his face.

"Why waste such a talent, brother?" He abruptly asked and the confused emperor turned to stare at him with utter confusion visible on his face.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Well, she is the strongest, scariest, and most cold-hearted assassin known. For six years, you tried to catch her, but that was to no avail."

"Catching her now was just a stroke of luck, so why kill her when she can be of good use?"

"You can keep her alive and still punish her at the same time."

He clarified and still not getting his point, the emperor arched his brow at him.

"I still don't understand where you are going with this, Adolf." He narrowed his eyes at him, and Adolf's grin widened even more.

"Well brother, if I am not wrong, I believe that you have yet to conquer the house of dragons. Am I right? Or perhaps, you can't."

He chuckled softly, and the emperor slowly lowered his head in a bit of embarrassment.

The house of dragons was in Degaria, a mountain far across the distance, which would require them to cross the raging sea of Temah to get to.

He had tried multiple times to get his warriors to cross the raging sea of Temah, but it was always a failure as his men would return either half alive or drowned in the depths of the sea.

His empire was the strongest and most feared, yet he couldn't conquer the house of the dragons, despite his countless tries.

He was a hater of anything that had to do with sorcery, and because of this, he had wiped out the country of the fae, where magic resonated from.

He thought he had exterminated all earthly beings who spoke of magic, but he soon discovered that the house of dragons is home to the monstrous beasts who breathe fire.

But, no matter the number of failures, he will never stop and he will do all in his power to make sure that these beasts are wiped off the face of the earth.

A half smile suddenly transpired on his face, and he turned to look at Adolf with a deadly glint in his eyes.

"Tell me more, brother."

"Well, Yennefer Bellegard here, Gavaria's assassin, is a practitioner of magic, am I right?" He asked, and the emperor nodded his head.

"Yes, she is."

"And she has an unmatchable skill that is on par with your warrior here-" He looked at Luthiel, who didn't even spare him a glance. " - So why execute her when you can use her to get what you want?"

He asked.

"Explain." The emperor, who seemed to have become very interested, folded his arms and Adolf's lips curled up into a smile.

"Well, since the raging sea of Temah has always been the obstacle to getting to the house of dragons why not use her to cross the sea?"

"I believe that she must have some kind of way to stop the sea or whatever. Currently, she's the only strong magic practitioner alive, so use her for your own gain."

"Cross the sea and have her, including your slaves that are yet to be trained to be a shield for your warriors in the face of such deadly battles."

"I am sure that there is more than enough time for you to train her, including the slave so that they will make a perfect shield that will lead to sure victory."

He explained, and flabbergasted by such thoughts, an an excited smile spread across the emperor's face.

"You are right, brother, but the problem is that I don't want to win this battle using magic." He said, and Adolf chuckled softly.

"Your majesty, to win against magic, you have to use magic. So if you really want to win this battle, magic is a must."

He shook his head at him, and the emperor, who realized that he had a point, slightly nodded his head.

"Well, you have a big point there. Tsk! I can't believe that I almost lost my way to victory."

He laughed as he shifted his gaze to Yennefer and ordered the guards to release her from the execution mechanism.

The guards nodded and released her from the mechanism.

They pulled her up, but Yennefer, who wanted nothing but death, struggled to free herself.

"Kill me right now!" She yelled, and the emperor raised his head to look at her.

"You die when I decide that. For now, you are my tool to victory."

He announced it in a cold tone, and Yennefer, who seemed to have recalled every bit of her memory that flowed within her, balled her hands into a tight fists.

She may not be the original owner of this body, but since she has occupied it now, she will have to live as Yennefer, continue her journey, and see how it all ends for her. I mean, it's basically her new life anyways.

According to the memories of the late Yennefer, she. was born in the country of Fae, but for some reason, she was not born of magic, and for that, her foster parents had her practice magic and reach this point.

But Emperor Raman, who had this unending hatred for magic, brutally and cold-heartedly wiped out her land, her foster parents, and the innocent mothers, fathers, and children that had not offended him in any way.

Becoming Gavaria's most feared assassin was just the beginning of her revenge, but as unfortunate as she was, she ended up in the grip of Raman because of someone's betrayal.

And now, did she come to realize why the man in the cloak within the crowds from earlier was staring at her with an apologetic look on his face?

He was, in fact, the reason why she was in this mess.

Becoming an assassin was not something she chose, but rather, it was something she was forced to do against her own will.

At first, she hated it, but the more she killed everyone involved in the deaths of the ones like her, the more accustomed she grew to it, and in the end, she found herself liking it more than she ever thought she would.

A dangerous glint flickered in her eyes, and she tightly fisted her hands.

They think they could use her to cross the raging sea and wipe out the last bit of magic that still walks the earth.

That would be a sin that she could never clean off.

This body is hers now and for that, she must finish off what the original soul couldn't finish off and maybe change the story a little bit.

She said in her heart and raised her head to look at the emperor.

"Sire, I hate to break it to you, but... haha, I will never be a tool for you to use and cross the raging sea. You don't really think that you can use me to wipe out the last bit of magic that walks the earth, do you?"

She asked as though talking to a fool, and the emperor stared at her for a moment before suddenly breaking into a smile.

"We will see about that, Yennefer Bellargard. And oh, don't think of unaliving yourself because I know that you can't do it. In your law and beliefs, suicide is an abomination."

He chuckled softly, and Yennefer, who knew that he was more than right, had a dark frown ensue on her face.

Unalive herself would be the most pathetic way for her to die, and that was something she could never do.

If she tried that, the soul who used to own this body would probably want to strangle her to death wherever she is now.

How funny it would be for the world to hear that the most feared assassin of the most deadly empire died by suicide.

She immediately shook the thought off and gazed at the emperor with raging hatred in her eyes.

"Bring her down."
