Are You Kidding Me?

Yennefer arrived downstairs and, following beside him, they made their way into the training ground, where she saw slaves from another empire, which probably got conquered by Raman, being trained by the royal warriors.

"Am I going to train with them?" She asked, and, annoyed by her dumb question, Luthiel ignored her and walked over to the track line, where running takes place.

"Your first training is to learn how to run?" He said, and completely shocked, Yennefer's jaw fell and she stared at him, in hope that he was joking.

"Wh-what do you mean by running?" She asked, knowing deep within her that one of the things she hated so much was running.

What's worse was the fact that she, in this universe, doesn't know how to run at all. That was the only flaw she had as an assassin.

It's not that she can't run, but it's just that she is not very good at it.

And it was the reason why she was captured after she was betrayed.

If she was a good runner, there was quite a high chance that she might have been able to escape.

Running exhausts her a lot compared to fighting.

"Get in the line and before I reach the finish line, do your best to catch up to me."

He said to her and, even more annoyed by this, a deep groan exited her throat and she stormed to stand in the line with a grimace on her face.

"On your mark, set, ready.....go." He counted and dashed off, instantly leaving a huge gap between himself and Yennefer.

"Are you kidding me?"

Yennefer asked in disbelief, confused as to why he would leave her and run off like that.

Her eyes flickered rapidly, and she dashed off to run up to him.

"Hey, wait! I need to tell you something first! " She yelled, and wanting to know what it was, Luthiel slowed down, allowing her to catch up to him.

"What is it?" He asked with an indifferent look on his face, and Yennefer took deep breaths to calm herself down.

"Listen, I don't know how to run like you and I easily get very exhausted, so please... slow down. If you want me to learn how to run, you have to start slowly so my body gets used-"

"If you want to hear what I told you about yesterday, catch up to me. Once you do, I will tell you, and once you start slacking off, I will keep my mouth shut."

He caught her off before she could finish her sentence and hurried off, leaving Yennefer breathing like a goat.

"Wicked! Just wicked! "

She exclaimed and halted.

'I can do this. It can't be that hard if I give it my all, right?'

She asked herself and wiped off the sweat on her forehead. Then, with new strength filling her up, she fisted her hands and ran off, trying really hard to catch up to him.

She bit her lip so hard that it bled and once she saw that she had gotten very close to him, a smile ensued on her face and she ran even faster, finally being able to catch up to him.

"You motherfucker!" She cursed him, and immediately recalling that she shouldn't be saying such words in this era, she quickly bit her lip and smiled sheepishly at him when she saw him staring at her with a look of irritation visible on his face.

"That was a slip of the tongue, I swear." She quickly explained herself, but Luthiel, who couldn't care less, looked away from her.

"She is a cursed sorceress." He abruptly said, and a bit lost for a moment, Yennefer arched her brow at him.

"Who?" She inquired, and Luthiel turned his head to look at her.

"You're slacking off."

He reminded her, and the next Yennefer knew, he was already far ahead of her.

"Oh c'mon!" She grunted in exhaustion, but knowing that she must catch up to him, she shook away the feeling of tiredness and picked up her pace.

She ran faster and faster, pushing past her limit, and finally, she cut up to him again.

"I get what you mean now. But... how do you know that she is a cursed sorceress?"

She immediately got to the point, knowing that it wouldn't be much time before she slacked off again.

According to what she knows, cursed sorcerers are more like evil sorcerers.

It was said that way back in history, a group of sorcerers committed an abomination, which resulted in them facing the curse of their leader.

As generations pass, any blood related to them will be cursed in the same way they were, and they will do evil for all eternity.

This eventually got them to bear the name "The Accursed."

It was a curse that no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't break it.

A curse that contained painful emotions was known to be strong to the point that it may never be broken.

So if Luthiel says that Ayana is a cursed sorceress, it means that both she and Damon are of the generation of the "Accursed."

She thought and turned her gaze to Luthiel, who proceeded to explain.

"During the battle yesterday, those threads she used were filled with the cursed energy radiating from her body. So If she had had the intent to kill you, those threads would have cut you into halves."

"Both the thread and the cursed energy are invisible as that thread was created from her magic, so it was the reason why only you and I saw it."

He clarified and Yennefer parted her lips, wanting to pry further, but the next thing she saw was Luthiel running ahead of her, leaving her slacking off yet again.

"Just one more time, Yennfer, then you can rest."
