I Mean, I Don’t Think Am So Bad

She inquired, and before Damian could reply, the door was pushed open, and none other than Luthiel walked in.

"You're awake." He said to Yennefer, and Yennefer smiled at him.

"Thank you for saving me from..." She turned to look at Damian "...him." She appreciated it, and Luthiel glanced at Damian.

"What? I didn't hurt her…" Damian's brows furrowed at his stare, and with an indifferent look on his face, Luthiel shifted his gaze to Yennefer.

"He will be watching after you from now on whenever I am not available," he said, and perplexed, Yennefer's brows scrunched.

"Huh? Why?" She inquired.

"The emperor has someone watching you. I have yet to find out who it is, but until I do, be careful."

He warned, and a look of suspicion ensued on Yennefer's face.

"Hmm... why are you helping me? Are you protecting me or something?"

"Stop assuming things! I do not like you; this I have told you many times." He slightly glared at her, and a soft frown appeared on Yennefer's face.

"I never said you liked me. Rather, I am curious as to why you are protecting me. It seems to me like you're the one assuming things."

She clicked her tongue at him, and he vehemently narrowed his eyes at her.

"I am not protecting you. I have no reason to do so. You're not important to-"

"Ahem! Says the one who didn't waste a moment to jump in and save her."

Damian immediately interrupted with a funny look on his face while taking a step back to avoid getting his face punched.

A dangerous glint flickered in Luthiel's eyes as he slowly turned his head to look at him.

Damian furiously darted his eyes around, doing everything possible to avoid making eye contact with him.

"Do you two... know each other?" Yennefer asked as she couldn't help but notice the way they spoke to each other, and immediately excited, Damian proceeded to explain.

"Yes we do. He used to be-" His sentence had yet to exit his mouth when he suddenly found himself sent flying into the wall by a punch that came from Luthiel.

"I warned you, didn't I?" Luthiel began to storm towards him, who was groaning in pain. "The next time this sort of mistake occurs, I will do to you more than you can ever imagine; learn to keep your mouth shut."

"Hey, hey, hey!" Yennefer, who could already smell a fight occurring, rushed to stand in front of Luthiel with her arms spread out, preventing him from taking a step forward.

"What in the world is wrong with you? It was just a simple question! It's not like you were going to reply! Violence is not always the answer to everything! I don't understand why it's so easy for you to hurt people! You are not living in a world where you expect not to be offended. Get that in your empty skull."

She scowled at him, and as though speechless and surprised at the same time, Luthiel drew his head back, his eyes staring intently at her.

Yennefer shook her head at him in annoyance and quickly turned around to hurry towards Damian, who had managed to stand up with his lips tainted with blood.

"Are you okay?" She asked, and he slightly nodded his head at her.

"I am fine. It's nothing." He half smiled at her and raised his eyes to look at Luthiel.

"I apologize." He said, and Luthiel, who was already feeling enraged within him, frowned at him and stormed out of the room.

He slammed the door shut and walked back to his own chamber.

He arrived there, and with an angry expression on his face, he ignored the guards that bowed to him and stepped into his chamber.

They shut the door behind him, and a heavy, angry breath fled his nose.

"AHHH!" He yelled, trying to let out his frustration.

"Who does she think she is? I am not violent; she is totally wrong!" He began to talk to himself.

"Like what the hell! If only she knew why I had to punch that idiot, she wouldn't have said that." He agreed with himself and kicked his shoes off in annoyance.

He strolled towards the bed and sat down on it.

He stayed quiet for a few moments before slowly tilting his head to one side.

"Am I a violent person?"

He asked, now beginning to doubt himself.

He folded his arms and began to think deeply, with his feet tapping the floor.

"I mean, I don't think I am so bad. I have done nice things for her a few times; ahem, it has nothing to do with feelings!"

"Haish! Yet she called me violent! Such an ungrateful woman!" He scowled, and folded his arms.

"Anyways, her opinion concerning me does not matter to me. It's not like she's important to me. Also, saving her does not mean anything. A proper gentleman would have done that." He nodded his head, completely agreeing with himself.

A deep breath fled his nose, and as though suddenly realizing something, his eyes widened, and he stilled in shock. "Wait! What the fuck am I doing?"

He questioned, horrified by the fact that he was sitting here talking to himself because of someone insignificant to him.

"Shit!" He exclaimed as he immediately stood up from the bed and stepped away from it, his eyes flickering vigorously.

"Everything's cool. Totally cool." He assured himself and walked towards the table to pour himself a cup of water.
