Chap 9- KOBOCAVERN!!!!

" La~ Lala~ Laaa~"- Singing with some random noises, a short girl with blue hair resembling waves jumps to one foot then to the other, swinging both arms back and forth with her jumpy steps.

Smiling as a red popsicle can be seen inside her mouth as she opens it to sing her little random song.

Behind her, walking with a bag of vegetables and ramen, was a man with black hair sporting a small smile on his once-dead solemnly face.

Staring at the girl who was sometimes spinning midair just to get back to the ground and starting hopping around again, it was like a blue bunny jumping side to side.

Yesterday the owner lady from the place he lives in came to ask him to pay the last three months of rent that he was owning her..... and he was thinking about how to explain that to the girl walking in front of him....

But seeing no escape from the situation, he chose to just go ahead and tell the girl.

*sigh*-" Kobo.... you see.... we might have to find a new place to stay in..."- Looking towards the clouds that float slowly through the sky, his eyes gain that same hopeless look he always had before meeting the wavy kid.

Hearing this the jumping bunny stops with only one leg of hers on the ground and bends it a little, jumping already turned to face the black-haired man with her lips to the side and her right hand under her chin, trying to understand why would they need to do as he said.

" Saitamachi.... Why? Dat cavern is nice!"- Tilting her head even more with a pout, she doesn't understand why they need to move out, she likes that place.

There she could watch cartoons on that 'strange thingy' or, better saying, the TV.

Seeing her confusion as to why they needed to move, the black-haired man put a hand on top of the girl's head, patting her with a small smile.-" We're probably going to find somewhere better.... Why don't we search while we are already outside? Exploring like those cartoons you like huh?"

Proposing something to distract the girl, and it seems to be working, as stars appear in her eyes not even a second later.

"WOW!!!! WE CAN FIND DA TRESURES!!!"- It seems her excitement was on another side as a drop of sweat run down the adult hero's cheek, and he smiled while laughing a little.

"Sure, we can find a treasure...*mutters* If we found a real one would be nice.."

"YEEEE!!!!!"- Not really listening to his last words, Kobo jumped back from his hand that was patting her, raising both arms up line excitement, she started to jump forward with even bigger jumps as she ate the rest of her popsicle and threw the wooden stick away in a trash can close by.

The one who suggested their new activity was following close behind, jogging as he felt the girl's speed increase, and knowing her speed was not always this high, he put in as part of her powers.

Saitama got to help her to test them out sometimes, although she herself didn't understand them, as she never felt too much different when it activates, so it was hard to get a reading about what it was fully, he knew it increased her physical capabilities, so, for now, he thought it was connected to a trigger of sorts or something along those lines.

Running behind her as Kobo jumped from one leg to the other, both arms raised like she was cheering for something, but she was just trying to find the so-called 'treasure'.

Dust was starting to be raised, and it kinda got the black-haired man a little annoyed, not towards Kobo, but the dust itself, but it still was indirectly at her in a way, and that was when....

*𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐌!!*

*𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬*

When he raised to wave some dust she was rising away from his face... Kobo's foot dug into the asphalt road as cyan electricity circled around her legs, and in one second she created a crater the same size as her foot and exploded in speed.

She would stop some meters forward, when she realized that the man that was behind her was too far behind, so stopping her dashing, she looked back to see Saitama catching up to her, not even fazed by the action, he has sawn this happen before... but he still not found the trigger to it....

So for now he chooses to ignore it, it was Kobo's strength, and she seemed to know how to use it very well when it activates.... that is when she isn't excited about something....

As he reached her side again, he is received by the blue-haired brat throwing some joking punches that she saw him training home, he cringed for a second seeing how perfectly she emitted him, but put a hand on her shoulder to inform her that he arrived.

Looking around.... he noticed that...-" I think we went a bit too far in Kobo... "

Every house was basically falling apart... it was like multiple battles have been happening around before, such as stores, houses, pharmacies, and convenience stores.

Everything was closed, not one soul around, they somehow walked into the ghost area of the town, one where it was attacked by monsters regularly.

As his head turned to look around, he finally starts to turn it back to the one he came here with.-" Kobo, let's go bac-.... Kobo?"

Looking down again, he didn't see her there....

*𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐌!!!!*

The ceiling of a convenience store he sawed a second before was blown away almost completely..... and with the still working automatic doors, stepped out a Kobo with various packages of potato chips in her arms, smiling wide.

Behind her was only left a huge purple wet stain on the store's floor... and some eyeballs here and there... there were also parts of purple flesh on its windows and walls too, that spoke more than one thousand words for him, and to confirm it, the purple stains on her clothes and knuckles were a pretty big point.

With small steps, she approached him again and he followed her with a face that did not fully believe how casual she was, he knew she was a strong one even in mentality, living in the streets and all.... but to this extent?

Finally, she got in front of him, the lower part of her face was hidden by the packages, there were about twelve of them in her arms.

"Saitamachi! Get some! There's a bunch dere!"- Not being able to personally give him, she walks closer, so he could fetch some for himself.

And blinking twice, he stretches his hand and picks half of them, putting most in his plastic bag, for later, so Kobo doesn't eat them all in one go...

He started hiding things in their house after she tried eating the knives.... 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐞.

Snacks and dangerous objects, she might have been growing some sense in that airhead of hers, but she still tried to eat the pizza box, thinking that was the pizza....

After getting the chips, he opened one, and the moment he did, Kobo did so too, in one arm she held the potato chips, and in the other she picked them.... She opened all the ones that were left to her...

' Knew it....'- With a proud smile as he saved some chips for her later, as Saitama and Kobo got back to walking on one of these ghosty place random roads, he didn't bother asking about the possible monster she faced there.

She acted, so casually, it probably tried something, but ended up being way too weak for it to be one-tapped by her.... that was what he thought, but in reality, Kobo killed another Demon class entity, it was sulking in a corner talking to itself, and when it heard the *ding* of Kobo entering the automatic double door.

It simply entered killing mode and shouted angrily about what a random annoying brat was doing there, and when it got closer to her, she just slapped it with the back of her hand that shined with the same sparkles her keg had earlier, after that she picked the potato chips.

She was still annoyed to not find the flavor she liked.

Treating the monster like it was nothing, but the organization would be screaming their lungs out if they watched a seemingly random kid just slap a Monster to deletion with enough force to destroy a concrete rooftop.

"Sooo...*munches* Wut we duing now?"- Stretching her leg all the way forward before taking a step, Kobo keeps eating her chips as she is already satisfied with her new-found tasty treasure.

"Honestly... we might find somewhere nice around here if we hit the jackpot... Not the best place, but we can roll with it for now..."- With a not-so-excited face, the black-haired man remembered once more about their situation.

Even considering changing homes and coming to live in this randomly infested part of the city, it wasn't the best, but it was free housing.-' Better than the streets... I don't want to have Kobo go back to them... She doesn't deserve that...'

For him, the all-time happy girl he came to open up to these past days didn't deserve to be saved just to be thrown back into the same place she started from... he was still oblivious to the truth behind her, but even she herself didn't know anything, so the real truth was something that wouldn't be brought up any time soon.

Taking her jumpy steps again, she starts devouring the chips, one after the other, and after eating them all.... and Saitama still eating his first one, she put one package inside the other and throws it inside some random thrash can that was by the side of the road.

Not like any garbage truck would pass by to collect it, but it was a nice action she learned.

Saitama taught her about ethics, brushing her teeth, showering, throwing trash where it needed to be, etc.

He was proud that even though she didn't seem to pick on everything, she learned when she saw him doing it, and repeated it... her curiosity for cutting objects and wanting to taste them was still..... worrying, to say the least.

"Hey, isn't that guud?"- Pointing a finger up, she aims it at a three-store apartment as they walked by it, she pointed her finger at the highest one and as soon as the older adult looked at it, she dashes running towards it, wanting to evaluate her possible new cave.

"Hmm, not so bad, I can say. Seems nice."- From the outside picture of the place, Saitama already like the whole place, it was simple, and he liked that.

A trail of dust was rising behind the running brat as he followed along, when he got to the start of the stairs he started looking around the abandoned place, hearing steps running up where he was climbing, small excited fast footsteps.

Climbing up he thought about how he started to feel this hole in his chest recently, and luckily for him, that didn't stretch to Kobo, she somehow got in that hard carcass of his and made a spot for herself, the energy she had was something he liked very much, and the change was welcome.

She was also somewhat strong, he learned to appreciate that as she could protect herself if needed in a world like this, having such powers put him at ease knowing that it was not something significant or super strong.

Kobo could very well end them like the purple monster or whatever that was exploded in the convenience store earlier, and take care of herself if needed.

But he still would prefer if she stayed in a radius he could help in too.

" Saitamachi!!!! That stuff with da funny symbols! Kobo found it!"- As he got upstairs, the first thing he already heard was a yell coming from the door that the girl entered, and curious about what she was talking about, he walked up to the open door and stepped inside.

"Moshi Mosh....."- Tapping his feet on the ground he looked around noticing how much dust it had around the place, even grimacing at the excessive amount, the place seemed to not have been cleaned in ages.

His thoughts about how would he clean it was cut by Kobo, who walked in by the open frame that connected a kitchen similar to his on the condominium to the living room.

She had an.... wallet? In her hands, and was opening it as she jumped towards him. Raising a brow, he crouched down and stretched his right arm to Kobo, seeing if he could analyze it.-" May I, Kobo?"

Asking for permission first, he received and nod.-" Umu! Her'e! *Hands it to him* Now, Kobo wi- ATCHOO!!!!! Uh?...."

Sneezing out of nowhere, Kobo started to scratch her nose, Saitama seeing this immediately understood as his eyes widen..-' She's allergic to dust?....'

Seeing a new discovery he stepped out of the way of the entrance door, and pointed his head to it as Kobo still gently scratched her nose.-" Kobo, play outside for a second okay? meanwhile, I will see if the place is nice for us to live in."

Smiling wide, she nodded.-" Oke! Call Kob- ATCHOO!!! Ughhh.... Kobo ish goin..."

Losing her smile, she becomes a little sad as she passes by his side, and he hears the sound of steps going downstairs.

With her leaving he analyzes this wallet she found as he walks up to a wooden table and starts to put everything he finds above it, after a minute or so he is left with quite a big amount of things.

Forty thousand yens, would help them survive for a while.... but having that convenience store abandoned... and its things still in a good condition, so he would use them, so he would save the money for when they really needed it.

Some documents that apparently belonged to an older woman, she would be ninety-five this year, he assumed she already passed on and bowed slightly in respect.

The last one was another pair of house keys and a bigger key, that he assumed was for the white car in front of the house, it was a normal white truck that would be used to move vegetables and such around, it wasn't much, but it was still good if he found it working.

It was around this point Saitama chuckled at himself.-" This place makes me feel like we're in an apocalypse or something, Kobo must feel something similar too."

As he finally put everything on top of the table and started walking around, seeing the place layout.

(𝐀/𝐍: 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧.)

One bedroom, a small living room, one bathroom, and the kitchen that was right in front of the entrance door, it was very similar to his one on the condominium, the change being the small balcony that had a sliding glass door leading to outside from the living room.

*Vuuuush*

Opening it, he stepped outside resting his arms on the supports and looking down, he got to see an interesting scenery in front of the house by the street....

"Hooo!!! Kobo attack!!!!"- Kobo was kicking with her right leg all the way up, close to her head, and spinning to fire a left back kick, it was pretty impressive that she did these two attacks while in midair.

Saitama was even going to applaud...

"*Thud* Ugh-"- If it was not for how she face-planted on the floor like a gelo.

"*𝐌𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠!!!*"

Hearing the raging screams that were absorbed by the street, he stepped out of the balcony slowly, acting like he has sawn nothing, it was better to do so.

Ending his analysis of the house, he kinda liked it.-" *Shrugs* Just need to some cleaning, Kobo can play around as I do that, she can't help with a lot of dust around it seems...."

And so he picked up the money that was left above the table and walked outside closing the door on his way out, as he made his way down, he was met with a sulking Kobo sitting on top of that small white truck.

Understanding her frustration as her powers seemed to be very situational.... but maybe he could try to find a way for her to activate them at will?.... the black-haired man wasn't sure, and he also wasn't the smartest, but they could try.

So walking up to the truck and tapping her head to get her attention, he chuckled.-" Kobo, after we change hom.... caverns, would you like to try to train your powers? Maybe we can figure something out.*shrugs*"

Sweating as the wave kid stared at him, but as her head finally fully processed the information she put both of her hands down and pushed herself off the truck and to her feet, smiling with closed eyes.

"Yea!!! Kobo will use Super Kobo's powas as Kobo want!"

As she smiled widely, Saitama got confused at something...-" Super Kobo? What do you mean by that Kobo?"

Hearing her name being called, she looked back at him with the same smiley look.-" When Kobo gets angy, Super Kobo helps Kobo!"

That one line..... solved the man's problems..... sighing loudly as he rested his hand on his face, he was thinking so hard, but she already had the answer....

Her emotions, or it could be her anger, even if the was neither, at least he had something to start off.

"Kobo.... When I go out for training, after I do mine we'll be focusing on yours too, it'll be a special one!*smirk*"

Changing mood quickly, he finally found a way for his small sidekick to grow too, so lowering his back to her to climb on, it has been a while since he did this, but he wanted to get home fast to get things ready, so he could clean this house.

"Climb up Kobo, the transportation services are available!"- Smiling he watched as the brat kicked the ground excited to use what she called 'Super Kobo's powers' that were indeed only hers.

*Fush!*

And so she jumped up after crouching down a bit like a bunny, landing on top of her vehicle's shoulders, almost making both of them fall.

"Uoooh... Could have just climbed normally you know?"- With a deadpan, he looked up, but he just received a fist aimed forward.

"𝐆𝐎 𝐆𝐎!!!!"

She just ignored his complaint..... Well, as they didn't have anything to do around here anymore....

*𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐌!!*

In his place, an explosion of wind was left behind as he dashed forward, running at speeds that would make Kobo's earlier outburst look like a joke.

His legs moved so fast he looked like a certain blue hedgehog, with an addition of a screaming kid above his shoulders full of happiness, smiling he thought about how strength had its other uses.

"𝐘𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐞!!!!!!!"

*𝐔𝐔𝐔𝐔𝐔𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐇𝐇!!!*

As they were finally starting to pass through the more populated places, people's belongings were sent flying, and all they saw was a blurry green flash, and what seemed to be a small girl screaming.... this was a confusing day around the shopping center of Z-city.

Many would look around, trying to find what the hell was that blurry thing they just saw.... And as they were looking around, a man in a black luxurious coat, with the same color pants and shoes, also having some dark shades that gave his black hair some nice highlight.... This guy likes the color black.....

Opening his smartphone, already raising his arm and holding it to his ear too, to talk to his superiors.-" Yeah... I probably found her, the only thing I can add is that she seems to have a very feminine voice, almost like a kid also, and there's her speed too.... I don't think C-Ranks can even hold her down if she moves that fast....."

*Phone mumbling*

" Hmm..... I don't know sir, she just appeared out of nowhere when I came to get a strawberry smoothie..... The 'where' she was going is unknown, but...*looks at the ghost district* She was coming from the ghost district sir..... yes.... I will get some heroes to analyze the situation....."

And once again, the Ghost Of Z-City continued to roam around freely~
