Chapter 29: Victory or Defeat - Part 1

Listening to Adam's words, Herder fell silent.

After quite a while, he raised his head, looking at Adam, a faint smile on his face.

"Alright."

His face bore an unreadable smile, "It's been a while since anyone has dared to challenge me. I hope this time, you'll give me a surprise."

"Come on..."

As his words fell, he slowly stepped forward.

Beside him, Adam took a deep breath, and followed suit.

"Someone actually dares to challenge Herder..."

"This man seems to be asking for trouble."

The movement piqued the surprise in many spectators observing Adam.

Some were surprised, while others snickered, thinking Adam was out of his league, and showing signs of arrogance.

Regardless, they were all hooked, ready to watch the upcoming duel closely.

Herder's reputation and status within the academy needed no introduction.

As for Adam, despite his previous obscurity, his victory over Jander indicated he was not to be underestimated.
