Nora was eating breakfast with Sara. Sara prepared pasta which Nora enjoyed so much. "I had no idea you are this good."
"Keep flattering me," Sara smiled. She took the plates and went to do the dishes.
"What do you think we should do today?" Nora got up from the chair and went to meet Sara.
"I don't know. I have to go home to check up on dad and prepare everything some things for him. I didn't tell him I would be coming over to see you and I know how worried he would be right now."
"Why didn't you call him?"
"The old man doesn't want a phone."
"He is not that old, why do you keep calling him an old man?" Nora asked.
"Because he keeps acting like one. He is just fifty years old but he keeps acting like he is seventy or more."
"That doesn't make him old."
Nora watched Sara as she did the dishes. After Sara was done, she turned to face Nora and asked her if she would be okay all by herself. "I won't be gone for so long, will you be fine?"
Nora nodded but then she shook her head. "I might start thinking when you are gone." She frowned.
"Why don't you direct those thoughts to me and think about me?"
Nora laughed. "I thought you were going to tell me to think about someone like a celebrity."
"Ain't I more than those celebrities?" Sara folded her arms and glared at Nora in a sweet way which made Nora smile before wrapping her arms around her.
"I love you," Nora told her.
"And I love you more than you love me."
"Is this something we are suppose to debate on?"
"Even if we do, you know I will win." Nora knew she was right so she didn't bother to argue with her. "I have to go now. I will call you." She grabbed her bag and as she left the house, she met Kelvin at the door. "Kelvin," She called his name with a surprised tone.
"Hi Sara, is she in?"
"Um yeah, I was just about to go see my dad. I was worried about her being alone but good thing you are here now."
"Okay."
Sara bade him goodbye and left the house.
Nora heard their conversation so she waited for Kelvin to come in. Kelvin came in and he was surprised to see her standing in front of him. "H..hi. I didn't know you were standing there." Nora didn't say anything but kept on looking at him. "Um, how are you? I just saw Sara on her way out."
"I know." Nora answered bluntly.
Geez! Why does she have to be in this mood this morning? Kelvin thought. "Um..."
"Can you just say what you came here to say?" Nora told him.
"It's not something we would stand and talk, can we sit?"
Nora went to sit down and Kelvin came to sit beside her. "Well?"
"I know you are still mad at me and I totally get it and I know this is a little sudden to ask but, I would like to ask for your hand in marriage."
"My hand in marriage?" Nora asked in shock. "I don't understand.
"I like you... I love you... I don't know how to say this, Nora, I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Nora chuckled, "You are joking, right? I mean, you can't be serious about this."
"I am in all honesty, Nora." he held her hand but Nora pulled her hand away.
"I let you in my house because I believe you had something better to talk to me about but if this is it, I would ask you to leave."
"Nora..."
"How can you come to me and ask me to marry you, do I need to remind you that I am in this mess because of your friend? I am carrying Michael's baby and as much as I hate him, you hate him too."
"I do not hate the baby and I will..."
"I am sorry, Kelvin but I cannot accept your proposal." She got up and showed him to the door. "Please leave."
He stepped out of the house but before Nora could close the door, he stopped her. "Can I ask one question?" Nora didn't reply but she didn't shut the door either and that made him to continue. "If none of this had happened and I come to ask you to marry me, would you still turn me down?"
Nora didn't answer the question. If none of this had happened, she would definitely give agree to marry him. He has shown her nothing but love, who was she to say no? But now, things are a lot more complicated. "Maybe."
"If Michael comes to you and apologizes to you and ask you to come back to you, would you agree?"
"You said one question."
"You didn't really give an answer to my first question."
"If Michael comes to me to apologize, I might forgive me but I am not so sure I would want to spend the rest of my life with him."
Kelvin nodded. "I won't stop, I just want you to know that."
"But I just..." Kelvin pulled her close and hugged her.
"I will see you later." He winked at her before leaving.
Nora was starstruck. She couldn't believe if this was happening life or not. Why would he even ask her that question? She thought.
She was on her way to her room when she heard another knock at the door. She was kimd of excited and she didn't know why. There was only one person she knew would come back to see her. It was Kelvin. She had questions to ask him that she should have asked but she was too caught up in her emotions to ask. She ran to open the door, "Kel..." only for her to find Michael standing infront of her instead of Kelvin. All of a sudden, the excitement on her face disappeared as she stared at Michael.
