Chapter 29: The Enemy of My Enemy

"Keep moving," Mako heard behind him as the man who caught him pressed the gun into his lower back.

As calmly as he could, he stepped in whatever direction the man wanted him to through the various rooms of the lower deck of the ship. He hadn't so much as seen the face of his captor; he focused entirely on staying alive. The man pushed him around through the lower levels without speaking. Mako started to wonder why the man hadn't shot him where he stood given that Dmitri had likely given the order for lethal force.

'Maybe Dmitri wants me all to himself,' Mako thought.

Sweat beads started to form on Mako's forehead. Each time the man behind caught up to him and nudged the gun into his spine, he lightly jolted.

Eventually, Mako walked to the end of the hall, and it split perpendicularly in both ways. He stopped for a second.

"Left," the man behind him said in a sharp tone.

"Where are you taking--"

"Shut up. Walk."
