11. Train until you gain

Again I am in the room with Kado fighting with him. Now we are fighting in a boxing match with only gloves on and no protection. For a while, it goes well till I lost attention, by someone coming into the room and felt him hit my nose that starts bleeding. I take off my glove and feel my nose with my hand, where is now gushing blood out.

Kado looks at it and I see his fangs coming out and I think he is going to bite me but he didn't. He took my nose and put it back in place that stopped the bleeding and I yelled it out of pain.

And then I see Xandros standing looking at us. He looked angry and not happy with Kado that almost got a death stare.

"Kado! I said train her, not injure her!" Xandros yelled to Kado who looked at his bloody hands and cleaned them and gave me also a towel to clean mine. Xandros did excuse himself to him, but I felt not true if he hides something.

Xandros is gone and I look at him leaving the room.

"What is there going with you two? I feel the tension of you two still in the room." I asked Kado who first looked away and ignored me till he opened up to me.

"Xandros is like a father to me. We are in human years the same age, but I am a newbie by them. I'm just 150 years old, and they are so many years older." I hardly can believe him. A newbie at 150 years old. I know Xandros is many years older, but a newbie is someone new, not 150 years old.

"How did he find you?" I try to find out more about him. Kado looks into the room to be sure Xandros is gone.

"He feels like my father because in a kind of way he is. He turned me. I was a really sick kid on earth that he had found in the backstreets of Santorini in an orphan home with no relatives. He bit me and my sickness was gone, I could finally live. I was the first he turned." He said with so much respect for Xandros and what he did that I did get a little more respect to Xandros.

I knew he was also sick and almost died and this was so a good deed of him to help another man to finally live. I don't love them to make more vampires but somehow I get them.

"How did it work on you and not on Xandros?" He first didn't understand what I meant.

"He had another disease than I had. I was told to die of cancer. But after he bit me all the cancer was gone, everything, and now I can finally train and live my undead life here in Vymqurios." He said with a laugh on his cheeks. It was almost touching, as he was not that filthy kind of bloodsucking vampire. What could be great about being a vampire? But when you are deadly sick, and you could choose to could live, but as a vampire, I don't know what I would choose.

Back in my room, I shower all of the blood off my face and neckline before I step outside in my bathrobe and look at Xandros sitting on my bed.

"What are you doing here?"I ask him with anger in my voice, I don't want to deal with him now.

"I couldn't sleep. I want you to have another trainer and I will look for it tomorrow." He announced before he would go out of my room. I hold him by asking him not to.

"He hurt you and he is too young. I have another vampire in mind that will come tomorrow." He said, and walk out of the room. He didn't even listen to me!

The next day, I go out of bed to hear the maid telling me that Xandros is waiting in the bitingroom downstairs. Annoyed, I go, but I'm going to tell him what is laying on my liver!

In the room I see him sitting on the couch waiting for me.

"I want Kado to be my trainer and what is the point of training me for the next year of Ecliptic games now already?" I ask him with my hands on my waist.

He looked at me. And I know he is hiding something.

"There is more? No, don't tell me you sick vampires have another game we have to participate!" Of the guilt in his eyes, I know they do. Furious I slam the door shut and run to the training rooms where I let me glide on the ground bouching with the back of my head to a wall.

He can't do this to me again! I can't! It's too soon. When I open my eyes, I see Kado standing before me.

"I'm not training you anymore. Why are you in this room?" He asked me. And when I look at him, he softens.

"Are you crying? Cleo, it's going to be ok, you are a great fighter." He tries to make me feel better, what it only made worse now that the one lighting point of my life in this castle did not have to train me again. I'm going to miss him after our training for a month.

"I don't want to go again to these sick games I almost didn't survive the games, before," I said with still the tears in my eyes.

He comes closer, sitting on his knees, looking at my tears that fall down. Then I hear Xandros screaming into the room Kado asking to leave and me pulling off the ground back to his room.

Angry, I look at him. Doesn't he have no shame! I am crying, and he takes me to his bitingroom again, sucking the blood out of my veins?

"You are mine! Don't forget this." I don't know why he is so uptight suddenly.

After a session of what did look like hours, I am finally free to go wandering into the castle again. I tried to find Kado, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Xandros, I saw at the diner, and he looked fresh and healthy. More healthy than I had ever seen him before, maybe I am helping him. The only person I could talk to is gone. Now I am here again alone with this barbarian that again is letting me go to this game.

When a familiar letter comes back again on the table, I know we have to go again to these blood parties where Xandros can choose to let every vampire bite me if he would. I hope he rejects, but I know he wouldn't.
