A Little Faith

After the guests had left, Gemma's mother couldn't stop worrying about Juan.

She had earlier summoned the cook and asked if she had used a type of spice in the preparation of the meals that might not have gone well with Juan's system.

And when the cook told her that she didn't use any new spice, aside from the regular spices she'd been using to cook for the house, she took to pacing the living room, with her rosary in between her fingers, praying for Juan's health.

Gemma sat in the living room pretending to care about Juan too. From time to time she will ask, "maybe you should call Papa and find out the situation of things at the hospital."

"I already did that, your father isn't taking his call," her mother said in a frustrated tone.

"I think we should all calm down, we will know the situation of things when Papa gets back from the hospital," Bernal said as he stood up and picked up his suit, and left the living room.
