Clarisse can die!!

The door was pushed open and Connor walked into the room. Garrick sighed in relief, "Finally… you showed up, what took you so long" he asked.

"Sorry, but I don't own a car like you," Connor replied and headed for the mini bar as usual.

Garrick was standing by the window, he watched his daughter stroll down the colorful garden; that was her favorite spot in the building but he had the feeling that she only went there to avoid contact with other people. Even the dog wasn't allowed to share the garden with her.

Garrick sighed and turned back to Connor who was now pouring himself a drink. "Is it not a shame that you have been alive for centuries and yet you don't even own a truck or a van or even a bike? You are most likely the only poor old vampire living in the world.

Connor chuckled and then poured the whiskey into his mouth. "You are funny, I am okay with not getting a fake identity card every hundred years. As long as I stay away from anything recorded by the government, I am totally fine." He replied

"Ugh!! I wish not to live your kind of life, so boring and uninteresting," Garrick spat in spite of Connor's low-key lifestyle.

"Good for you then, and those words are synonymous by the way," Connor teased and poured himself another glass.

Garrick was yet to understand why a person, who loved alcohol would still be very boring, wasn't that contradicting? People who take alcohol are usually fun to hang around and he knew that from experience gathered in nearly three thousand years of existence.

"Anyway, that is not why I have called you here, I want to know something from you." Garrick said and walked towards the mini bar.

"Oh yeah, you said it was urgent but you can't talk about it over the phone. I hope you don't plan on reassembling the team," Connor asked.

"What team?" Garrick asked in confusion with furrowed eyebrows.

"The Squad, a group of serial killers and dogs who you use to kill people who stand against you. Did you forget about that?" Connor asked with a smile.

Garrick frowned and folded his hands. "That was another lifetime, you fool. If you weren't such a close friend, I would rip your throat out of your neck and wait till you heal to do it over and over again." He cursed.

Connor chuckled. "Good thing I am your friend then, I still haven't forgotten your torturing methods, you break even the strongest of them with your tactics… oh, the good old days," he said while smiling foolishly.

Garrick wrinkled his face in puzzlement. "Oh Connor, sometimes I wonder how the hell I have not killed you yet? Just answer my questions and don't talk any more trash or you will lose your tongue. Believe me, it wont grow back for another six hours," he warned.

"Alright Sir, that was the last one." Connor said and laughed softly; he was obviously having fun but Garrick Verne wasn't in the mood for that.

"Good… first of all, is it true that Clarisse can die a human's death?" Garrick queried.

Connor froze the moment he heard that, with the glass cup hanging in the air and then the smile on his face disappeared. "Oh-owl, I see that Claire told you. Well I am not sure but that is just my theory and I have reasons to believe that." He replied.

"What reasons?" Garrick asked.

"Hmm… well, she has red blood." He replied.

This time around, Garrick was the one to look shocked. "What?" he muttered.

He knew what that meant, Connor could be right if it was the case. Vampires have dark purple blood, almost black and that is due to the unicorn blood interference in their body system.

"Yes, I was shocked as well. I thought she was human when I found out but then her heart beats like a vampire. I confirmed she was one of us when her thirst for blood began, but I can't explain why she has human blood. I haven't experimented on it because I am no doctor but without purple blood, there is little or no chance that she will resurrect after human death, I am sorry but she is likely mortal." Connor explained further.

Garrick was disappointed to confirm what he already suspected. He knew this meant more threat to Clarisse's existence. She might have a long life span like vampires but she could still be killed by unnatural ways.

"Connor, no one must know of what you have just told me, no one at all, not even Clarisse herself. It will lower her self-esteem if she knew that she didn't fit in with the vampires nor with the humans." Garrick warned.

"Sure, why would I tell anyone? Who would I even tell? I don't have a family," Connor replied and laughed, before he poured himself the third glass.

"Yeah, but you have friends. Speaking of friends, I am throwing a party in a few days, the location is here. Invite your friends," Garrick announced.

"Oh noo…." Connor groaned. "Of course I should have seen this coming; you are a party freak even after these years. Why do I have the feeling that you are planning something else for that night?" he asked with suspicious eyes.

"Stop scrutinizing me like that, I am just going to introduce my daughter to the vampire world, tell them that I am a proud father. Nothing more than that, okay?" Garrick said while avoiding eye contact. He always did that when he had something to hide.

"What? I know she is your daughter but I will advise you against exposing her to the vampire society. You are going to be putting her in a lot of risk, and also putting a target on her back. Not only will the people be intrigued with her for being the first child to be born to a human and a vampire, but think about all of the enemies you have made through the years," Connor advised.

"Ugh! I am tired of people reminding me of my enemies, they know better than to return. I have dealt with all of them, they won't mess with me." Garrick bragged.

"Oh yes, they are all petrified of you, but what about your daughter? Lets say they don't really want to hurt her which they would probably do to hurt you, they can still use her to get to you, lure you into a difficult spot and have the upper hand. I am not in support of this idea, it is too risky." Connor warned.

"Relax old friend, I am still Garrick Verne and I would do whatever it takes to protect my daughter. Also, introducing her to the society would ensure that they are all aware that she is my daughter; that way, no one of them would dare to lay a finger on her unless they wish to start a fight with me, and if we should be honest… Just a few vampires have the balls to start a fight against me. Society would help to protect her as well; I think it is a great idea." Garrick insisted.

Connor sighed and waved his head. Knowing Garrick too well, he wouldn't change his mind as soon as it was made up. He can just do whatever it is he likes.
