CHAPTER ONE

Delilah looked at what she called home, her house was in rumbles the terek soldiers had managed to enter their kingdom and destroyed all their soldiers one by one leaving the women and children as slaves that would be taken to other kingdoms she closed her eyes crying slightly when she had a faint noise in the kitchen and ran there to see her mom lying on the floor with bruises all over her body she cried her mother's head and laid it gently on her lap sobbing her only world left was going to leave her and so soon her fiance who she was meant to marry was also killed .

she bent her head as the tears flowed like rivers staining her cheek and a hand cleaned she opened her eyes to see her mother wiping her tears as she coughed, Delilah pulled her head closer to her laps and looked around for water standing up she took a jug of water from the floor and fed it to her mother who spilled some of it's content as she took it slowly pulling away as she coughed weak and have no strength anymore.

" you need to leave Delilah" her mother said holding on to her daughters hand gently." I won't leave you mother " delilah cried as she shook her head leaning on her mother's blossom

" leave you can't stay here they will have you soon" delilah lifted up her head "it's worth dying knowing I am with my mother " she countered aggressively" look here child " her mother caressed her cheek " I need you to be alive run away from here and never tell anyone about your abilities" her mother coughed and she tried to feed more water when she heard the foot of chariots approaching them fear was written in her eyes she couldn't leave her mother and she also couldn't beat these warriors the best would be to run she looked back at her mother again to see her unmoving form she had died right in her arms she laid her mother on the floor as she tried to escape and gasped when she saw that their door had been kicked open she ran to her room which she and her mother shared and screamed when one of the soldiers came out of the room she tried to run on a different direction but saw that she was cornered she screamed as one of the soldiers behind her grabbed her by the shoulders hoisting her up on his own shoulders as she tried to kick hos ribs he produced a substance which he stuffed in her nose sliencing her to sleep.

Delilah woke up to a dimly lit dungeon the walls of the room had blood everywhere and she could see the skulls of dead beings scattered everywhere she brought her knee to her chest resting her head on her knee she removed her head when she heard a noise she lifted up her head and got up weakly looking at the soldier that pushed a woman wearing a tattered clothe in to her dungeon the woman looked frightened her hair was matted and she screamed as she fell face flat on the floor

" both of you will stay here until tomorrow" the soldier said and closed the iron door causing Delilah to jump she bent down and placed her hand on the woman helping her to sit down as she left her and sat at a corner looking at the woman from the other side of the dungeon badly injured the woman coughed and spat on the floor as blood gushed out of her mouth she placed a hand on her lips wiping the blood stain

"from which kingdom did they take you" the woman asked her Delilah stared at her not speaking and turned her face away she closed her eyes breathing softly

" terek"

" I heard that it was a barbariac country is it true" the woman asked further

" maybe"

"maybe but you're from that kingdom" she coughed again putting her hand to her chest " how can't you know the cruel ways of your people"

Delilah felt angry surely these woman wasn't brought here to ask her such useless questions

" my people ways isn't your business" she hissed glancing back at the woman

" such uncivilized tongue no wonder they destroyed your people" the woman mocked her

" you're also a slave like me there is no difference between us" Delilah mocked back getting up from where she sat as she walked to the iron door they were locked in

" what do you think you're doing you will get yourself killed"

" leave me be" Delilah was pissed she tried to knock on the door she could hear the voices of the soldiers as they rejoiced their victory drinking to their heart content her throat felt dry she needed water she began to feel the scales on her body becoming visible on her skin glistening a bright white color she was afraid no one had to find out what she was she needed water and fast

she knocked again and paused to listen as the men stopped what they were doing and one walked to the door opening it he looked at her beautiful face as she had her head bent not looking at him

" what do you want slave" the soldier asked he looked at her beautiful nubile body her cleavage were exposed leaving her almost bare for him to see

"water I need water" she quietly gaining all the soldiers attention

" did you hear that she said that she needs water" a soldier said scoffing at her as the others laughed delilah looked at him from her lower lashes to see the soldier that mocked her he was attractive with his black shinning hair and quickly she looked away as he smiled knowingly at her making her to turn her face as she spoke to the officer who stood in front of her

"raul it would do you well to keep your tongue to yourself" the soldier warned causing all the men to stop their chatter as they stared at their senior officer scolding Raul who was enraged" being her water" the soldier said leaving his men as Raul got up bringing the water to delilah who drank it greedily and wiped her mouth stepping back into the dark dungeon as Raul closed the door.
