Migrating Trees

With the lush thick forest acting as coverage, there would definitely be an ample number of fierce beasts using this place as their abode. Tyron and the others walked deeper into the forest. Along the road, they encountered several fierce beasts which attacked them.

However, they were taken care of in a matter of seconds. While looting, they came across a few rare herbs inside the monster's territories and picked them up since they could be exchanged for points or cash.

"The fruits in the wild are plump and delicious. If not for the coarse environment, perhaps this place would have become part of the human abode." Kai muttered as he bites onto the flesh of the fruit he just plucked from a tree.

In such a dangerous place, there are several fruit trees scattered around that bore poisonous fruits. However, with Kai's sufficient experience, there was no way he would be stupid enough to eat a poisonous fruit.

The team had just finished raiding a Greedy monkey lair. Kai had saw a group of monkeys eating this particular fruit and knew it wasn't poisonous. The beast in the wild were known for their sharp senses to avoid danger. For the monkeys to have use this fruit as their food sources implies that it was safe to eat.

He offered some of the fruits for the others to also munch on.

"Thank you." Xue Yiran accepted the plump red fruit from Kai. Seeing the others munching on it, she also took a bite.

A sweet bursting taste filled her mouth. The fruit was delicious. She made a note to give some to Xue Haoran. The little guy would surely love the taste. Joining hands with Kai, she walked towards a tree and began to pluck some of the fruits.

As the crown prince, Ian was somewhat embarrassed to pick up some fruits. But seeing that Amos didn't show any courtesy and began to pluck some fruits, his embarrassment fades away and he also joined in the picking.

The plants in the wilds are well known to grow vivaciously. Although a lot of them are quite poisonous, there are still some plants that provides huge benefits to the human body. Just like the precious herbs guarded by some territorial beasts.

The moment he had ate that red fruit, Ian felt a refreshing feeling wash over his body. The soreness on his body from their accumulated fight instantly fades into nothingness. It was truly a magical feeling.

How he wished that this fruit tree can be planted inside the city area. Yeah, this was a dilemma all planets were facing. There are abundant resources in the wilds. Majority of it being the vegetation resources. Everyone was taken by a melancholy feeling when it was found that plants in the wilds can only survive in the wilds alone. If one attempted on planting them in another location apart from the wilds, the plant would instantly wilt and die.

Some researcher had even dug back the soil from the wild to test this claim. However, the plant only lasted for a few hours before they started wilting.

It was then discovered that there was a certain substance in the air inside the wilds that serves as nutrients to this plant. Without it, the plant wouldn't be able to survive in any location.

As long as one does not replant the herbs or fruit, the plants would maintain their nutrients. It like a hibernation mode for them. But once planted in the soil, this plant will wake up from their hibernation mode ready to absorb some nutrients. But once they couldn't, it's the end for them.

Which is why planted plants from the wilds cannot be found inside the human territory.

With this, it only made the pay of a mercenary more expensive

"We should head back now. The sun is almost down. By the time we reached the hall, it would have gone dark." Tyron announced.

Everyone looked up. There were tall trees blocking the ray of light from the sky, but from the slight gap of the leaves, they could see that the sky was already darker than before.

"Okay, get down from there Kai. You've picked so much already." Miley said to Kai who was still greedily picking some fruit.

"There's never too much of money. All these fruits can be sold for a bit amount of money." Kai picked the last bit of unripe fruit off the tree branches before jumping down from the tree.

Miley rolled her eyes when she heard Kai's money grubber words. Except for Amos and Ian who were each carrying a bundle of bag filled with fruits on their back, the others stored their belongings inside the storage ring.

Thinking that it would be weird seeing the crown prince and his mentor carrying a bag behind them, Milo offered to help them keep their loots. Once they reached the hall, it will be given back to them.

After that, they started heading out of the forest. Thankfully they had a map with them, or else they would have been lost inside such a huge forest.

On their way out, Tyron suddenly halts his footsteps. Since he was at the front, everyone immediately noticed his sudden halt.

"What's wrong? Why did you stop?" Walker looked at Tyron with an enquiry expression.

Xue Yiran also looked at Tyron confusedly. She was more sensitive to danger than the others. However, she hasn't felt anything so far. She didn't know why Tyron had stopped either.

"Didn't you hear that?" Tyron turned around and asked the group.

"Heard what?" Miley asked.

"Could it be that there's a monster lurking nearby? But why don't I sense anything." Ryker was also filled with confusion just as the others.

"Boss, what's happening? Is there something wrong?" Jose also questioned.

"Mr. Tyron, did you sense anything strange in the surrounding?" Amos knew that Tyron must have sensed something for him to have stopped. As a team leader, Tyron senses must be topnotch. Hence, Amos believe that Tyron must have felt that something was off.

"Everyone, quiet. I think there's something heading towards us." Tyron finally answered.

Hearing that there was something heading towards them, everyone don on a serious expression and immediately summoned out their contract pets.

Tyron didn't disapprove their actions. There was indeed something heading towards them. But from the sound, he knew that they weren't monsters.

Then what is it? Humans? Of course not.

'Susu, do you have any ideas on what is heading in our direction?' Xue Yiran asked Susu.

[That… you don't need to worry. It's just some trees migrating to somewhere else.]

Tree migration? If Susu had said beast migration, Xue Yiran would have believed it. But for trees. That's impossible. Xue Yiran even suspected that Susu was playing a joke on her.

It didn't take long for the group to start hearing a whooshing sound. The sound was distinct enough for them to hear.

"What the hell is that sound?"

"They are here."

Coming into their view, were a lot of brown flashes whooshing past them. If not for their sharp eyesight, perhaps they would have missed the appearance of those things.

However, when everyone looked closely at the whooshing figures, they were all taken aback.

Wait a minute. Isn't that a fucking tree. Tell me, how come are the trees moving so fast. No, they were jumping so fast that they almost couldn't be seen with the naked eyes.

These trees were actually very small in sizes. Their height only reached up to the height of a human baby. Their branches were covered with dense blue leaves. A few of these trees had some blue circular thing dangling on their branch, which supposed is a fruit.

"What are these jumping trees?" Although these trees bore no feeling danger to them, Walker was still taken aback by their weirdness.

What are they? Jumping tree? Flying trees? Running tree? Who the hell can tell him.

However, two people reacted differently. One was Amos and the other person was Tyron.

Tyron almost felt like his eyes were popping out of his socket. Who the hell can tell him how they encounter a talent tree. It wasn't just one but thousands of them.

"Everyone, move. Take the fruit hanging on the tree branches, now!" Tyron voice felt like he was holding back his laughter.

The others didn't know why but complied with his wishes. These trees were as fast as lightning. If one didn't react enough, they would be gone in no time. And also, not all trees had some fruit hanging on their branches, making it a harder job for the group.

Ha-ha-ha. This was a talent tree. Their luck must have been very good to have actually met a migration of them.

Finding a talent tree was considered a lucky encounter. However, it was harder to pluck the fruit of a talent tree because of the nature of the talent tree. The talent tree is a shy tree that's afraid of intruder. No matter how careful one is, once the tree discovers the person, it would flee away from its location, never to be found again.

The trees speed was faster to be outrun by anyone. Which is why the price of talent fruit in the market was very high. Even people from first rate planet sought for the fruit.

All this is due to the ability of the fruit. Just like its name, the talent fruit had the ability to change someone else talent.

For example, if someone was destined to stay at a rank for life, the talent fruit would help one break this threshold. For example, if the threshold a person or beast can reach in its lifetime is an A class, with the talent fruit, one can reach the limit of S class. And if one were to eat another again, it will change to SS.

And besides the talent fruit had no side effects, making it a valuable treasure.

Tyron and the others were said to have struck it rich. Perhaps this is a blessing after their misfortune in their last mission.

Even with the thousands of trees passing by, the group were only able to collect 26 talents fruit.

This was a huge number.

"Wow those trees are hella fast." Atlas hair was in a disarray. Perspiration covered his body.

That was the situation everyone was in. Xue Yiran wiped off the sweat on her face and took out a bottle of water to drink. Ahh, her throat was very dry. She felt like she had just run a marathon race. Even with that, she had only managed to catch one fruit.

Susu had already told her of the ability of the tree and hence knew why Tyron was eager to let them catch the fruits.

Tyron eyes were filled with delight when he saw the number of fruits. But he didn't explain to the group and spoke. "I'll explain it to you once we get back to the guild. The sky had already gone darker. It's quite dangerous at night."

They were all focused on catching the fruits and was unconscious of the flowing time.

Coupled with their tiredness, they all walked out of the forest and head back to the hall.
