Inside the car, Sylvia watched as the cores she just gotten for Susu turned to nothingness in the blink of an eye.
[I'll be going into a short sleep, host. Although it's a short sleep, it might still take me several hours before I fully level up.]
"Don't worry about me. Just go to sleep. I'll be waiting for your new changes once you wake up." Sylvia said. However, when she didn't hear any response from Susu, she knew that the other party must have gone into a hibernation mode.
The black hoover car drove across the road, down to the outskirt of the bustling city before arriving at a huge building situated in a desolated place. Several kilometers away from the building, one could see the huge black wall that span thousands of meters up in the sky which protects all the residents of Starry Sky planet from the harshness of the wild.
Sylvia arrived at the mercenary hall underground parking lot before pulling her hoover car to a stop at the parking spot. She got down from the car and was about to head out, when another black hover car drove into the parking lot. Sylvia continues walking, not bothering on turning to look at the newly arrival occupant of the car. Just after she reached several meters away from her parking spot, she suddenly heard her name being called.
She paused her steps and looked behind her.
"Who would have thought that we'll encounter each other here, Miss Sylvia. This must be fate." Amos has a bright smile on his face as he stepped down from the car.
The passenger door behind him opened and Ian also stepped out from the car. His and Sylvia gaze met, before he then nodded at her in greetings.
"Hello." Sylvia greeted.
"Why don't we head out together. I need to give Mr. Tyron back his storage ring. Thankfully, we brought ours today or else we'll be in debt of him once again."
"Yes." Sylvia could only nod and follow the two out of the parking lot.
…
At the ground floor of the mercenary hall, a huge crowd was gathered around, watching the ongoing commotion transpiring at the center of the encirclement.
"What's happenings? Why's everyone gathered here? Is something happening at the front?" Amos was stunned by the wave of people gathered in one direction. He stretches out his head to see what was going on at the front. However, his view was covered by several numerous heads.
Both Ian and Sylvia who were shorter than him weren't left out the situation.
Seeing that he couldn't see anything, Amos tapped on the broad mercenary at the front of him and asked, "Hello brother, can you please tell me what's happening at the front? Why's everyone gathered here."
"You don't know. There's a confrontation going on at the front between the Tyron guild and the Cedric guild. The last time, the Cedric guild president was beaten severely by the vice president of Tyron guild. Now that he's already discharged from the hospital, I think he's here to settle score with the Tyron guild members." The broad mercenary man explained.
Sylvia looked towards the crowd with a worried expression. Without waiting for Amos to finished with his conversation, she forced her way into the tight crowd.
"You..." Ian saw Sylvia actions and immediately followed after her.
"So that's what is going on." Amos nodded and said word of thanks to the mercenary man. When he turned to discuss their next course of actions to the two teenagers beside him, he saw the two of them making their way into the crowd. "Wait, where are you two going? Crow... I mean Ian, wait for me." He rushes after them. However, there was no way a big person like him could squeeze through the crowd like the two youngsters did. As a result, he was stuck in the middle of the wave.
When Sylvia emerges from the crowd, what she saw wasn't the brawl she had thought would be ensuing. Instead, the two guilds were facing each other, seeming to be having a causal conversation.
"You..." Ian was sweating as he came out of the crowd. His breathing under the mask was hurried. "You move so fast." It doesn't matter how swift he had chased after her, the young girl was just like a slippery fish in the midst of the tight crowd.
Sylvia walked over to the Tyron guild side. Ian could only follow along.
"You're here, Sylvia." Miley sighted her and immediately pulled her over to her side. "Hmm, you seem to have lost a little bit of weight. How about we visit a restaurant once we get back from our mission." Ignoring the livid Cedric before her, Miley began to chat with Sylvia.
"Okay." Sylvia nodded.
"That's great. I would book a seat for the two of us right away."
Looking at the two females conversing while treating him like an air, Cedric anger reached the peak.
"Hey! Am I a joke to you, Miley?"
"Yo, don't you dare shout at our Vice president. If you want to talk, then talk. You don't have to keep roaring out like a wild beast." Walker retort back at Cedric.
"You—."
Before Cedric could question Walker words, Tyron suddenly stepped forward and cut in. "What do you want?" The gaze of the two-guild president met. Tyron clenched fist tightened as he tries to hold back himself from hitting Cedric in the face.
"What do you mean by what I want. Your teammate just classifies me to a wild beast and you're all acting like it's nothing. Well, I'll take it as I didn't hear what he just said. Anyways, I heard that you and Miley are both getting married soon. How surprising." Cedric looked at Tyron in the eyes and snickered. "Since you two have something going on, I hope you don't try to cover up for her evil deed because of that."
"What do you think you are doing right now?" Tyron looked at Cedric with warning in his eyes.
"What am I doing?" A wicked grin appears on the corner of Cedric lips, before he then turned to look at the dense crowd behind him. "Everyone, I'm pretty sure you were all there as a witness when the vice president of Tyron guild stormed into my guild private room and waged a war against us."
"What's this fucker trying to do?" Jose had a frown on his face when he saw Cedric actions.
"I think he's trying to stir up the crowd against us." Atlas who could see the hidden intentions behind Cedric action answered.
"Stirring up the crowd? How thorough he is." Gael snickered.
Cedric continued. "I had to defend myself against her craziness. During the midst of our fight, a lot of my guild properties was destroyed. Several beast cores almost worthing a billion was destroyed in the clash. It was quite unfortunate that I lost the fight and had to be administered to the hospital for an urgent care. Despite all the chaos she caused, I heard that she was only locked away for a few hours before being released. Isn't that absurd. My guild was attacked, our properties were destroyed in the process, yet the culprit accountable for all of this was only locked away for a few hours. Isn't that a discrimination happening under our eyes. If the Tyron guild members are allowed to do as they like without getting the proper punishment, wouldn't the development of other guilds be at stake."
"Bastard. Is he trying to whitewash himself in front of the people." Ryker gritted his teeth, disgusted by Cedric actions.
"He's sure cunning. Trying to make other guilds pit against us. Worst is the case; our guild might get disbanded or evicted from the mercenary hall." Kai added.
"Of course, that wouldn't happened." The nine of them turned to looked at Miley who had just spoken.
Sylvia saw the amusing smile on Miley face as she looks at Cedric as if she was watching an interesting show.
"However, I don't care about this little injustice. All I want is for Miley herself to kneel down and apologize to me."
"You fucker!" Walker rushed forward wanting to hit Cedric, but he was immediately held back by Ryker.
"Don't act rashly." Ryker said to him.
"What the hell are you saying? Didn't you hear what that fucker said? Want to let the vice president kneel and apologize on him. He must surely be dreaming. Let go of me. See if I don't teach that fucker a lesson today."
"Oh, look at that. So scary. I only asked Miley for a proper apology, yet I'm about to get hit by one of their members. Could it be that because they are one of the top guilds in the mercenary hall, they are allowed to act as they like" Cedric smiled mockingly at Tryon. "Or could it be they are the overlord of the mercenary hall."
"Don't go too far?"
"How am I going too far? You tell me, your vice president barge into my property and hit me to stupor. Yet I can't even ask for a proper apology. I don't even know why she hit me in the first place. If there's a reason why, I asked you to bring the evidence. And if there isn't, I do deserve a proper apology from her." Cedric laid out.
