"Well, Priest Erandur, I would say let us depart tomorrow morning. I want to see if I could perhaps convince either Jarl Skald or Lady Brina if they could provide some assistance to our cause..."
The Dunmer Priest glanced at me from his table, nodding in understanding as he said "That would be good, but I wouldn't get your hopes up... Besides, I needed time to prepare as well. Nightcaller Temple will be a treacherous place, so we need to be ready for anything... Meet me here tomorrow morning then, warriors! Hopefully by tomorrow night, the city of Dawnstar can finally have a real nights rest."
He stroked his Amulet of Mara as he said that, before smiling and watching Rayya and I exit his room.
"Rayya, clean yourself out and see if Skald requires a woman to warm his old bones. If he doesn't, seek out his servant, Bulfrek, and seduce the man. He harbors an immense amount of ill will for Skald, which we could use. Either way, I want something in 'Skald's' writing admitting that he works with the Blood Horkers by the end of today. The Jarl position needs to change. Got that?"
My voice was low as I whispered to Rayya, and she nodded before making her way towards my room, where she would clean out the cum left behind by Bodil and prepare to fuck her way into some very important places.
That was a nail that I planned on adding to Skald's political coffin, though the main component of that would be getting Brina's backing for Erandur, Rayya and I to go up to Nightcaller Temple.
If the common folk believed that Brina was the one to free them from this curse, then her fame inside Dawnstar would skyrocket, securing her the Jarl position a dozen times over.
Of course, since she was former Legion, I had a feeling that this might either be really difficult or really easy; she could be a horny older woman, or a shriveled bag of bones.
Though, considering how close she is to her former Legionnaire Horik, I imagine she gets plenty of use...
Most likely, anyways; they were together for many, many years now, so it'd be weird if nothing was going on between them?
Going outside, I looked over towards the Jarl's Longhouse to see Brina, Horik, and Skald arguing, the annoying old man huffing and puffing at the mature woman.
"If I catch you sending any letters to General Tullius, I'll have you executed!"
He spun around and slammed the door behind him, making the former Legate roll her eyes as she muttered "Like I have an address to send it too..."
[Brina Merillis, Futa Nord, 47, Level 51]
Oh, well that makes things a tad easier...
"Excuse me? Are you Brina Merillis?"
The white haired woman and her pale skinned friend both looked towards me, their faces wary.
"Aye. What can I help you with, Redguard?"
My eyes flickered towards the door, and Brina got the message as she gestured for me to follow her, leading me off towards the house she owned inside Dawnstar.
"Ahem... well, I came because I heard about the... troubles inside this city. I was wondering why nothing's been done regarding this... odd event?"
She scoffed, her dark blue eyes filled with disdain as she said "Ask the idiot occupying the throne that question. The people are suffering, and he believes that the Empire is the one at fault! Like the Legion has consorted with Daedra to take ahold of this beautiful, yet insignificant 'city' through underhanded means! The nerve!"
Horik growled in approval, before they both looked towards me as I said "Well, either way, I was wondering if you would like to... oh, I don't know, draft up a letter requesting for a Companion to come and solve this problem? Point them in the direction of a Dunmer Priest of Mara?"
Brina's eyes widened as she saw me dangle my Companion's amulet in front of her, the older woman shocked before she looked me over.
"You... are a Companion?"
"Well, unless you think I killed one of them and stole the amulet? Yeah, I am. New, but still a Companion none the less~!"
Reaching her house, she stopped and gestured at Horik, whispering something to the man.
"Are you sure, Legate?"
She nodded, and I watched as the man scurried off, making his way towards the mines.
"Well, Horik and I were planning on helping eventually anyways... I might not have been born in Skyrim, but it's become my home. Dawnstar in particular."
Her voice filled the quaint home she had well, speaking as she led me inside and offered me a seat.
"I was given this land as my post for many of my final years... It was a way to keep an old Legate in the Legion, but make sure she didn't cause any harm. I trained up the newer Legates, honing their command skills before sending them back to the Empire. That was my duty, and now... well, I've retired. The Legion taught me many things, but loyalty... that was something I learned quickly, and still stick to to this day. My loyalty no longer truly lies with the Empire, but with Dawnstar. My people. Friends and neighbors, all of them. Family."
Pouring out some dark red wine, the woman offered me a cup as she continued.
"That's why what Skald has done - no, his lack of doing anything has angered me greatly, Companion. I've been forced to watch as the people I care for suffer because of an old fools incompetence! Watched as this place has been left to rot and fester under his unworthy hands... There is so much that this Hold can offer to Skyrim, yet nothing happens under his rule. Nothing! No help to anyone..."
Brina scoffed as she took a sip, before looking towards me as she sat down.
"If you manage to rid my home of this threat, I'll be in your debt, Companion. Really. It'd be a relief to finally get a full nights sleep for once..."
We shared a smile as we drank, before I asked "Brina, what is Horik doing right now?"
"Oh, he'll be back in a few hours... there's an outpost of Legionnaires off to the west, and he'll be bringing back some troops to join you. The Legate running the Pale - Legate Tituleuis - is the son of an old friend of mine. He'll answer the call..."
Nodding, I took another sip of the rich wine before looking over the older woman, tracing out her subtle curves and mature features.
We drank quietly for a few more moments before Brina caught me staring, the older woman raising a brow.
"Are you checking me out, Companion?"
Her voice was both amused and bemused, like she was happy, yet confused that I was showing interest in her.
Scratching my cheek in 'embarrassment', I looked away and said "Well... you are a rather good looking woman, Legate. That, and I've always had a thing for women who served... I like the muscles..."
We shared a laugh before she poured herself another tankard, taking her time to look me over as well.
"Y'know... If you're fine with an old lady like myself, I wouldn't mind spending the hours showing you a thing or two in bed..."
Brina's cheeks were slightly red, the wine getting to her rather easily as she gave me a lusty smile.
"Oh~? Do you have some... 'sword techniques' to show me, Legate~?"
Chuckling, she nodded, saying "I've wielded my sword a lot over my life, Companion... Want me to show you my prowess~?"
