Chapter 25: Feast

The smell of good food surrounded the entire neighborhood, causing bellies to growl and mouths to water. The pups, hyper as always, were dashing about in the center of the Park, far away from human eyes. This was because several of them were in wolf form, some so young that they still had the dark gray-black fuzz of babyhood. Bonnie, naturally, had to coo over seeing this, causing her mates to chuckle at her. That earned them a glare but they just smiled in return; to them, she was the adorable one.

Their attention was dragged away from the pups, though, when ten shifters came out of the houses. Each set of five were holding half of a very long table, the kind that hooked together for big parties. An eleventh person came out with the folding chairs, somehow managing to balance them without looking like it took much effort. That, of course, was a lie, as anyone who had had that job before knew what it took…and that no human could possibly have done it all at once.
