Chapter 29

[Nayla's POV]

Khayim pulled over in front of me and smiled brightly. "Better hop in, miss." He joked. I laughed a little. "Right on time," I told him, and I slid inside the car and made myself comfortable in the passenger's seat, where I let myself give a big long sigh of relief. "I bumped into a few rude people. Phew! What a day."

"So how did it go?" He asked, his eyes on the road. "I'm not sure yet," I told him. "We have work to do. Some rogues are spotted within our territory and that of our neighbors," I said to him. "The Alpha King wanted us to take a look,"

Khayim glanced at me, and seeing the expression on my face, asked thoughtfully. "Anything else bothering you?"

I smiled gently. "How could you read me like glass?" I looked at him, genuinely astonished.

He laughed. "Superpowers," he said.
