The Explosions

Bang!

Dante pulled the trigger in his gun, sending a bullet through the man's head in seconds. Blood spurted onto the tree trunks and grass, so the refreshing scent of the forest turned into the pungent smell of iron.

"Ouch, why did you kill that poor man? I promised to let him go," Scarlett inquired. Although the intonation of her voice sounded sad, her behavior looked like she was mocking the corpse in front of her.

"The one who promised to let him live was you, not me." Dante lowered his left hand and stepped away first. "Come on. We have to check whether he's telling the truth or not."

Scarlett jogged to catch up to Dante. She put her hand on her husband's left arm, then asked, "Don't you want to look for Saro? He might still be looking for you in the woods."

"Once he sees the corpse that had its teeth pulled out by you, he'll know that we've left the forest," Dante replied.
