Emilia looked at me like I was stupid. Eventually, she burst out in laughter.

"What are you talking about? Yeah, you might not be the responsible person, but there's no way I could see you as a bad person."

I blinked a few times.

"But-"

"And everyone hides things. Just because you have a few secrets here and there doesn't make you bad."

Her words and tone were reasonable. But the look on her face showed that she was starting to lose it a little bit.

"If you were thinking that you weren't worthy of me, then you should know I've done some nasty things too that I don't tell other people about."

A sad smile formed on my face.

"I wished it was something like that. It's my fault for not clarifying any further, but there just seems to be an issue with my brain. For some reason, I can't find myself actually loving you."

She bit the bottom of her lip.

"What? You... you accepted my confession when you didn't really love me?"
