Too Late

"Not bad."

Nathan nodded to me. I chuckled a little, pointing at the tentacle skewered on his spear.

"You planning on frying that later? It would probably taste decent."

Nathan rubbed his chin thoughtfully for a moment.

"It might be pretty good. Though I never had an Eldritch monster before, so there isn't exactly much reference. Unfortunately, this isn't the time to try such a thing."

After saying that, he flicked the tentacle off the spear before continuing to run. I followed next to him. We took turns hitting the ground when it didn't appear caved in to follow after the sunken ground.

And just a minute in, we found a chokepoint that branched off in two directions.

"I'll go left again."

Without even turning, he ran off in that direction.

"Then I'll go right."
