Chapter 4

I sigh and wipe her tears, pulling her by her hands I lead her to the Guilds Inn where several competitors were currently drinking and talking loudly at the bar.

I go over to the reception area and drop two silver coins on the long marble table.

"One room, two nights, a plate of ribs, and two cup of wine." I say, the old man behind the table quickly takes my order and signs me in, then hands over a key to me.

"Enjoy your stay." He gives a closed eye smile.

I nod and pull Kyna along with me to the rooms, don't let the old man appearance fool you, he's a level 11 practitioner, one of the hidden talents of the Phoenix Guild.

I enter the assigned room and lock the door behind me. Kyna was flustered and out of breathe from the flight of stairs we took up here.

"What can I do for you master?" She bows.

"I'll like for you to fulfill your favor." I say and her eyes doubles in size in fear. She probably misunderstood me.

"I-- I don't know what to do. I've never done it before." She stammers all flustered.

"What haven't you done?" I tease a bit smirking.

"I'm still a vir--" She starts but I interrupt laughing.

"What's so funny?" She frowns angry crossing her arms, which gives her a cute appearance.

"I'm not a pervert." I say after catching my breath. "The favour I'm going to ask of you is to stop calling me master."

"Huh?" She arcs her eyebrow confused. Normally people would take advantage of them and use them to do whatever they wish so I understand her confusion when I use my favour for something that simple.

"Won't you fulfill your favor?" I ask sitting on the bed, pulling off my shoes.

"I will." She nods and I could see a smile growing on her face.

I take off my shirt revealing my perfectly sculpted body, I made it my very self, everything was made to perfection. Kyna blushes heavily her face turning a deep shade of red as she quickly turns her back, a knock came in and she runs to answer it, she mutters some greeting to whoever was there and a thank you then closes the door holding a tray of food and drinks then sets it down on the table beside her.

"The ribs are for you suit yourself, also you'll be staying here from now on till I can find a better place for you." I say, she stares at me without saying anything for a while just blinking and looking like a deer stuck watching headlights.

"Wait what?!" She exclaims, I can't count how many times she has been suprised today, hopefully she doesn't get an heart attack soon.

"I can't accept this, I'm sorry." She politely declines bowing down.

"If you accept this you won't over me or anyone a favor again and I'll make sure you are never used as a slave again. Deal?" I offer her a deal knowing it'll hard for her to refuse.

"How would you do that? You're hardly a level 6 practitioner and you're not even that rich seeing the house you come from." She points out gaining courage a bit.

"That hurts you know." I dramatically put her hand on my chest feinting hurt.

"But you're correct, However I'm sure you might have been having doubts." The beastkind have a greater ability to sense energy or Mana then any other specie,they could even tell someone's level by just looking at them.

She hesitates for a while then said; "The amount of Silver I've seen you with is enough to make your family richer than you are now and your Mana is something I can't explain even while peering deeper, It seems like something is blocking it and I can't get through it."

Kyna seems to have an uncanny eyesight and her observations were on point.

If she focuses on her sensing skills more and compliments it with a top notch combat skill, she'll be a force to reckon with later on.

"Correct." I smile proud of her observation.

"You aren't really level 3 are you?" She asks curious.

"Yes, I'm beyond that." I confess, she nods slowly and sits on the chair near the table she set down the tray.

"What level if I may ask?"

I wave my hand and the cup of wine from the tray flies to my hand. If she was surprised she didn't show it this time, the only thing that gave her away was a twitch in her eyes.

" Just a level." I reply mysteriously, not willing to reveal myself yet.

"Why do you hide it then?" She questions, okay the questions are getting too much already.

"For a reason." I reply covertly, expertly evading her questions.

Before she could ask again, I wave my hand and a rib fly from the plate into her mouth.

"Eat".

"Announcement, the second game will begin in two minutes. Please report to the field immediately." Ember voice booms from the speakers.

"Guess we had better hurry up." I quickly get dressed and waited for Kyna to finish eating, then we headed to the fields.

Everyone were already gathered and the guild leaders are already on the stage.

"Now that everyone is here. I'll like to explain the second game for you. The second competition is a rumble. All fifty of you will be transported to the arena and fight till there's only 10 of you left. The last ten of you automatically qualifies to be part of the guild, however there's a last game which would be announced to you later." Ember explains.

Everyone murmurs among themselves, Kyna stayed behind me watching from my shoulders, I could see people look at her in disgust, it's not everyday you see a beastkin stand among humans as their equals.

"Won't we die during the games?" A girl with red hair asks gaining the attention of everyone.

"No dear, The bracelet in your hand has a feature that monitors your health, once your health reaches below half you'll be teleported out of the arena." Ember replies.

"Alright then. Let's do this!" The red haired girl yells and everyone joins her.

"[Transfer]". Ember waves her head and immediately a bright light enveloped everyone temporarily blinding us, when we finally regained our sights we were at the arena.

The Arena is colossus, extremely wide, there is a dome of energy covering the entire arena to prevent damage from reaching the audience, several thousands of audience were already seated and they erupted into cheers and applause as we appeared in the arena.

"You have 60 seconds to prepare yourselves." Ember announces from a section in the arena where she seats with Archon and Drex beside her.

Everyone starts gathering together, forming groups, in situations like this, it's best to form groups to take down others before turning on each other, a temporary alliance of sort. Weak competitors will try to join stronger competitors to at least stand a chance, while stronger competitors will associate themselves with other strong competitors forming an unbeatable team.

"So who would you join?" I ask Kyna, she stares at me like I was stupid.

"Ofcourse it's you." She replies shaking her head in disappointment.

"I'm so honoured." I tease, she rolls her eyes and humps.

"What are your abilities apart from sensory?" I ask.

"I have a Bloodline ability to allows me target the pressure points of the body and stop the flow of Mana in a person's body." She explains. "Although it has been a while I've done it. I don't know if I'll be able to pull it off."

"I'm sure you will." I encourage her. Her bloodline ability is really special, they make use of their keen senses and Target pressure points of the body, They're several pressure points in the body, if hit with enough force will knock an opponent unconscious. It's very hard to pull off but I'm sure she'll be able to do it, for her to sense my hidden mana, she'll be able to pull it off easily.

"Let the Rumble begin!!" Ember announces.

The crowds roar in cheers, everything was at standstill in the arena, no one willing to make the first move, each teams checking out their opponents.

"[Earth Spikes]." The ground erupts in spikes across the arena signifying the start of the rumble as everyone started releasing skills of different kinds and power.

I hear a scream from my back and turn to see a guy recklessly rushing at me with a spear in hand. Just as I was about to move, Kyna moves infront of me and rushed towards him.

"[Pierce]." He thrust the spear towards her, she gracefully and fluidly evades it and sends a strike to his shoulder with two fingers, his hand fell limp beside him and he drops the spear, he turns to punch her with the other arm but she blocks it skillfully and sends another strike to his other shoulder making it go limp.

"You filthy--." Just as he was about cursing, Kyna hits him on the throat, silencing him.

"[Total Paralysis]" She jumps back and rushes towards him again, she hits his chest and he coughs out blood and fell to the ground unconscious. A bright light swallowed his body and teleports him out of the arena.

"That was impressive." I commend smiling.

"Thank you." She beams proud of her win. Her eyes suddenly widen and she yells. "Watch out!"

I turn immediately, leaning sideways evading a sword aimed at my heart.

"Rude." I duck again as the sword went for my head.

The jerk that attacked me kept swinging wildly, Kyna was about running towards me but a girl stops her and began attacking her, guess it's just me and him.

I flip back creating distance from my attacker. "Don't you know it's rude to attack when your opponent isn't paying attention." I ask annoyed.

"You fool!" He charges at me again. "[Overhead Slash]" He jumps and swings down at my head, I roll away just as the sword embedded itself in the ground. He growls and comes at me again, swinging eager to get a hit, I could tell he was frustrated already as none of his swings seems to hit me.

"[Oblivion]." I duck under one of his swings and swiftly tap his chest then jump back immediately.

He was about charging again but couldn't, his body was now glued in place, no matter the force he uses he can't ever move.

"I'll be right back. Enjoy a quick nap." I smirk wryly and watch as an explosion rocks his body, before the explosion could effectively kill him he was teleported away.

"Silver!" Kyna runs towards me, she had already disabled the girl that attacked her already.

"Are you okay?" She ask checking my body for injuries.

"I'm fine." I pat her head and she smiles.

"Help!!." Many voices cries out, We both turn to our left to see a wild fire with a tinge of purple flames easily ravaging anything that stood in it's way, it was headed for us.

"Silver?" Kyna grips the back of my shirt in fear.

"[Whirlwind]" I point towards the fire and a burst of air spiraled out of my fingers, dispersing the flames.

After the flames cleared, some distance opposite me stood a girl with black hair with purple strands of hair, she wore a purple robe and was glaring at me in fury.

"Do you know her?" Kyna asks behind me.

"Not at all." I reply unwilling to back down from the face off.

"That's Princess Zita." Someone says, almost all of the fights had stopped as everyone watched the alteration between me and apparently the Princess.

"Oh wow. I heard she's a prodigy, reaching level 5 at just 8 years of age. She decided to come and learn at the Phoenix Guild, I never knew she'll be here." A girl squealed from the crowd.

"Kyna. Make sure you don't leave my back." I order, Princess Zita folds her fist and points it at me, her eyes glowing in rage.

"[Great Flame Annihilation]" The air around her fist condenses and I could see the air particles vibrate causing a huge ripple that spreads over to me.

The heat alone caused many competitors to pass out, I glance at the guild leaders and they weren't even making a move to interrupt.

Fire spread out from her fist and raged towards me, it was like a tiger running at you with all fury it has in the world.

"[Wind Howl]." I raise my hands up and waited until the fire was nearer then brought it down releasing a burst of wind that parted the flames forming a clear path between me and Princess Zita.

She growls and fire burst out from both her fist as she propels herself towards me.

"[Meteor Fist]." Her fist took a red hue and fire covered the whole of her arm.

As soon as she was in range, she swings down at me.

"[Combust]." I tap on the air causing the oxygen in the air to combust just as her fist was about to connect with my face, an explosion threw her backwards, she slams the ground hard and keeps rolling until she managed to get her balance.

"What just happened?" Kyna asked looking at me in awe.

"I forced the oxygen in the air to gather then with the tap created a spark which set off the combustion." I explain.

"[Phoenix Judgement]." Princess Zita raise her hand and a white flame starts forming on her hand.

"Enough!" Ember yells and appears infront of Princess Zita holding her hand.

"Hmph." Princess Zita reluctantly nods, she sends me a furious look before turning back.

"The second competition is over." Ember reports.

The crowd cheer and applaud, everyone in the arena breath a sigh of relief and start congratulating themselves.

"We did it Silver." Kyna says and hugs me. I smile and return the hug. The last skill Princess Zita was about to use was close to a king ranked skill, although it wasn't perfect in the slightest, if she had released it, I'm not sure even the dome would be able to withstand it.

"The finalist and newest addition to the Phoenix Guild are; Princess Zita Phoenix." Ember announces and Zita bows slightly.

"Max Rims."

Max bows slightly with a smug look on his face then turns to face me as if trying to study me, after a while he scoffs and look away.

"Sam Gold." Ember announces my sister's name, she cheers from beside Max hugging him.

"Fred Meyer." A blonde hair guy, holding a long bloodied sword nods.

"Rachel Damian." The red haired girl from earlier jumps up in excitement.

"Silver Gold." Ember announces my name, I wave politely and earned glares from Sam, Princess Zita and Max.

"Kyna Fae." Kyna smiles showing her shiny dentitions and beautiful canines, her tail wagging behind her.

"Joseph Eli." A huge hairy muscular guy with long beards nods.

"Jason Spark." A guy wearing white robe holding a staff next to Max smiles and waves his hand.

"And lastly, Lex Allen." After the last announcement everyone starts the crowd start chattering among themselves. I turn to look at Lex Allen, she's a petite girl with a lean build and curvaceous body and white hair, she is really pretty.

"Alright that's it for today. Tommorow is the last game, it'll be a one on one fight so prepare." Ember says and disappears away from the arena.

The crowd slowly began to disperse as well as the competitors that didn't qualify, Max and Sam sends me a look and walk out of the arena.

I roll my eyes and was about exiting the arena with Kyna when I heard.

"Hey Silver."

I turn to see the princess looking at me, she points to me then to herself.

"I'll be watching you." She says and disappears from the arena.

Ofcourse she would, stalker. Kyna nudges me forward and we both walk out of the arena, so much for not showing my power too much.
