The Parting

The Count continued to cough after saying that, but this time, blood kept flowing out of his mouth.

Calus discovered a cure, but Ismael drew everyone's attention before he could clean the old nobleman's lips.

He held Calus' hands hard, his eyes widening and his brows furrowed.

He said something then that made everyone feel lightheaded.

Ismael said, "Guys, they're here," and as soon as he spoke, they heard laughter in the distance.

The tone of laughing was enough to freeze them in the tunnel-like space they were in.

Then applause follows.

Ismael and Calus moved forward to protect the others once everyone had enough time to become alert, even the Count, who had been trembling, did so.

"Here," Gavin replied as he handed the Count's bare upper torso, the coat he had been wearing.

The Count then turned to face Gavin and grinned, but it was clear that the smile never reached his ears.
