We got back onto the road. Alert most of the time, we had no other choice but to keep a lookout. Danger surrounded us like goldfish around bloodworm. We were hunted.
The city area seemed great, safer honestly.
"Here we go," Edward got off his seat to look at me working away.
I still wanted to pass my examinations you know?
"Gas station." He pulled my hand.
"Alright alright," I placed down my pens and took a quick look and inhaled the sounds around me.
We seem to be quite safe. The gas station was quite packed too. We bought extra gas and did a quick refill. Made sure the tires were good to go and even got a shit ton of snacks.
God finally, extra food. We have been living off leftovers for quite sometime now.
We returned to the van and packed everything nicely. Cup noodles and more instant noodles were beautifully packed into a wall. The sight of it made me happy. Food. You really do not know the importance of it until you have to scavenge for it.
