Leaving

Emilia's P.O.V

"Wake up". I could hear someone shouting. I opened my eyes slightly, my eyes darting to the window. The sun wasn't up. Who wakes up before the sun? Ugh!!

I tried to close my eyes again, but I felt something dropping on me. Rain? Was the ceiling leaking? I sprang up, my forehead colliding with someone's, and I quickly looked to see who it was.

Dawn!

Fuck! I almost forgot, or rather, I completely forgot that we were moving today, that too early this morning. "I'm sorry". I shouted as she glared at me while massaging her forehead. As I got up from bed, I noticed the jug lying around carelessly, plus water poured on the floor. "I'm sorry". I apologised again, as I picked up the hug and placed it on the bed before rushing to the bathroom

Cassie emerged from the bathroom, and I realised I must have been the only one who overslept. I took a quick bath, remembering to pack up my bathing materials since we were moving. Good thing I picked a dress already, so I opened my wardrobe and grabbed the blue gown, then put on my flats. There was nothing I could do about my messy hair since Dawn was already screaming at me to bring my bags outside, so I just tied it up in a messy bun.

I grabbed my luggage first, when someone barged in.."Ria". I exclaimed. "You made it"., I said in glee.

"I did, not just me though. Let me help you with that". She offered, and without waiting for my response, grabbed the luggage and rolled it away. I was left with my school bag and the boxes.

'Not just her?' what's that supposed to mean?

Nevertheless, I carried the rest out, and that's when I understood what she meant by that. Stephen came too.

Ria took the boxes and bag from me and nudged me to go meet him, which of course, I did.

I looked to the right where the car was parked. I only had until my sister was done arranging the stuff to talk to him. We moved a little away from the rest of them. "Hey". He greeted, his hands still tucked into his demin jacket.

"Hi. You came". I smiled..

"Well, Ria came to my house around past 3. What a weird girl". He looked behind me, and I followed his eyes as we both looked at Ria who was making things as slow as possible sjust so I could talk with Stephen.

"Indeed". I responded, nodded my head, as I slowly turned to look at him again.

"Well, I'm going to miss you a whole lot. Have you asked your sister what town you guys are settling into?". He asked, and I cursed in my head.

"No". I pouted.

He frowned, then said "No worries, you'll tell me once you get there mm?".

"Okay". I replied and he leaned in, his eyes darting over my head, and I guessed he was looking at my sisters, unsure if it was right to do what he wanted to. I sighed, as I pulled his head down, and pressed my lips firmly against his. He moaned into my mouth, as his hands tangled in my hair. He pulled away, looking at me apologetically, but I didn't care, so I locked our lips once again.

"Awwwn". It was Ria. We didn't pull away though, at least, he didn't let me pull away. His tongue slid into my mouth, dancing along with mine.

Feeling satisfied, he pulled away, his hands still around my waist though. Ria was now standing between us on the right. "At least I got to see this". Her eyes sparkled.

"I'll miss you beauty". She leaned in, wrapping her arm around our necks.

"I'll call you both". I said.

"We–".

"Uhm..". Cassie cleared her throat, then pointed. "Sis has been glaring at you for a very long time, but you haven't seem to notice, and she's getting impatient, I feel she might throw her shoes at you, so please come". She smiled apologetically for interrupting, and I nodded.

Ria let go, so did Stephen, and there it was — emptiness. I walked away with Cassie and entered the car. I looked to the back, and mum was there, along with Cassie who just entered. Did Dawn carry her on her own?

"Cassie helped". Dawn said as she probably read my mind, and I nodded. She started the engine, and it made a squeak noise, then turned off. She tried again.

The car was really old. It was my dad's, but he had lent it to Dawn since she started working. The car refused to start, and Stephen volunteered to check what was wrong.

After several trials, the engine finally turned on. As I sat on the passengers seat with the window rolled down, I rested my chin on my elbow which was resting on the window .I looked at my friends one last time, and they waved at me. I waved back with a smile, thier faces getting unclearer as the car drove away.

I looked at the house one last time. I remembered I used to think dad owned the house, cause I was born there, and we never moved, neither have I seen the landlord at our house before. My dad always pays ahead, so there was no need for the landlord to come to our home. Not until I turned fourteen and realised that the house was never ours. That time, dad travelled and the landlord dropped by to tell us that the rent has increased.

I looked at the neighborhood, and I sighed as I sunk back into my seat. "I'm bored". Cassie complained from the back.

"You better sleep so you don't distract me while driving". Dawn warned. I pulled out my phone, and handed it to her.

She squealed and bounced, then composrd herself almost immediately. She didn't ask how I got the phone, and I wasn't in the mood to talk either. I sank in my seat and closed my eyes.

I didn't realise when I dozed off, but my sleep was interrupted with a loud thud. I rubbed my eyes sleepily, and looked around.

"Omg". Dawn exclaimed as she stepped on the brakes. I almost fell off my seat, but thanks to the seat belt which pulled me back in place. I looked forward and saw that a huge tree had fallen blocking the path.
