Ms.Evernight

While Achilles was taking his share of tokens, somewhere near the center of the city.

At the top floor of a black skyscraper that was only a tad bit shorter than the Central Tower.

A woman with short black hair wearing a formal suit moved swiftly across a large hallway. She arrived in front of an ebony double door while panting a little. She took a deep breath and knocked on the doors three times.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

After 10 seconds, an ethereal and soothing but cold voice sounded out from within the room:

"Come in."

The black hair woman lifted the glasses on her face up before pushing the handle of the room and spoke hesitantly:

"E-excuse me.."

Inside the doors was a large room with large glass windows, that showcased the glittering night of the city.

On the left side of the room were 2 couches facing each other along with a table that had teacups on them.

On the wall behind them was a colorful oil painting that depicted a lushing green forest. The right side of the room was a glass cabinet that had some pottery in it.

In the middle of the room, in front of the glass windows was a working table with a holographic image displayed on top of it. A figure was sitting on a leather chair behind the table.

The black hair woman couldn't see what the figure looked like since she didn't dare to look directly at her, she only directed her gaze on the ground as she stuttered:

"M-Ms.Evernight, something peculiar just happened at our casino on the south side of the city."

There were two casinos in this city, one belonged to the Evernight family and corporation, and the other was lesser known and situated on the north side of the city.

These two casinos had been competitors for a long time, but the Evernight Casino came out as the superior one in the eyes of the high-class individual within the city.

This was partially due to the fact that Evernight Corporation had a great influence on different aspects of the city, from politics, real estate, entertainment, business, etc...

The other reason was thanks to the great intellect of the head of Evernight Corporation and rightful heiress of the Evernight family, the individual that the black hair woman called Ms.Evernight.

Even though the Evernight family and corporation were not engaged in illegal activities like a regular mafia, they were still considered as one of the mafias, the second superpower of the city.

The figure who was sitting on the chair was silent for 2 seconds before speaking in a slightly curious tone:

"What happened?"

The black hair woman arrived near the desk and put her digital tablet down while saying:

"I think you should see it for yourself, Miss."

The woman connected the tablet to the table and the image the hologram displayed changed. It showcased the video of the match between Nightbeast and Firesoul, the match that Achilles had bet on.

Ms.Evernight watched the video until it ends, she touched her chin slightly while muttering:

"Interesting.."

The black-haired woman didn't understand why the woman found it interesting, this clearly was the sign that something out of their calculations had occurred on that match.

Just as she was deep in her thoughts, the figure said again which snapped the woman back to reality:

"Bring me security footage of the auditorium."

The black hair woman nodded her head and reached out for the tablet on the table, changed to a different file, and connected it to the table again.

Ms.Evernight scanned all the security footage for 10 minutes before her eyes paused on a particular video, then she said to the black-haired woman in a cold tone:

"You can leave now."

The woman bowed deeply before quickly heading for the double doors.

After the black hair woman had left, Ms.Evernight checked the security camera all over again, then she zoomed on a particular part of the auditorium, a position where a young man wearing a hoodie covering his face, there seemed to be an invisible bright red light underneath that hoodie that only her could see.

Ms.Evernight switched to another security footage of a reception desk at the coliseum, then she zoomed in on the image again. She saw the same young man wearing a hoodie from earlier, this time he didn't let the hoodie cover his face, making his face completely exposed in front of her.

The young man had medium-length black hair, and a sharp and angular face that could be considered good-looking, he had a polite smile on his face as he pointed to a certain holographic image of a bald man.

An amused smile appeared on Ms.Evernight's face as she spoke in a playful voice:

"Oh my...what do we have here?"
