Lullaby

A soft tune echoed within Achilles' ears. It sounded like a soothing lullaby that a loving mother would usually sing for her baby.

The calming song reverberated within his head as if it was stuck inside. It reminded him of a memory that he buried deep inside his heart — a forgotten past.

What intrigued him even more was the voice of the mysterious singer. The lady's tone carried a storm of overflowing emotions. He could sense a mixture of melancholy, sadness, and regret but also love, joy, and blazing passion.

She made the simple lullaby sound like a great symphony of emotions.

"...Oh darling, when you wake up."

"I will be there, just for you."

"Until the end of this lifetime..."

The lullaby started to quiet down as the sound became further and further away. Achilles wriggled his body in frustration as he tried to escape from whatever it was that confining him.
