Aurora held back her tears as she stared at Xavier. She knew he was right, they all knew he was right but what could she do?
"I want to be strong, Xavier. I really do but I'm not you, you need to understand that things affect me more than it should because I already feel like a burden, a failure, a disappointed. What do you want me to do?"
"Killing yourself should never have been an option. You have people who care about you, you didn't even think about them. Before I became a demigod, I had no one. Nobody liked me and nobody cared for me including my family and of course I felt death would have been better for me but then, I decided that being stronger and showing all of them that I wasn't a burden neither was I a failure or disappointed was better that living the world feeling like I was. You trying to kill yourself was just burdensome" She stared at him for a while then sighed.
"Then… then how do I become stronger? I want to be stronger" He straightened up and folded his arms.
"That's for you to figure out yourself but I know you can do it, Aurora. Don't do this again because I won't be saving you again" After saying that, he turned away and walked towards the door.
Aurora's eyes immediately turned wide and she wanted to call out to him to stay but she didn't want to upset her parents anymore.
"Wait, stay. She needs you here" Aurora gasped when she heard her mother's weak voice. Xavier paused in his steps then slowly turned back.
"What are you talking about, Roseline?" Nikolas questioned with shock written all over her face.
"You know he's right Nikolas. We can't be hard on Aurora but he can. She needs him and he was the one who saved her" Aurora glanced at Xavier then turned to her father.
"I'm not approving of this" Roseline sighed.
"You don't have to and I'm not asking you to but I know that Aurora wants him here with her" Nikolas scoffed.
"Then she should learn not to want him. He's a demigod and she's just a wolf. Their relationship is a taboo" Xavier sighed then turned to Aurora.
"You know where to find me when you want to" With that, he disappeared and the room went deathly silent.
"Do you… do you feel okay, honey?" Roseline asked after a while as she caressed Aurora's head and she nodded.
"I'm okay mother. You don't have to worry about me anymore" Roseline sighed.
"We are always going to worry about you, my love. Please don't try this little stunt ever again, okay?" Aurora nodded with a smile then glanced at her father.
"I'm sorry" She sighed then grabbed onto her other hand.
"You don't have to be sorry. I was pretty harsh on you. We are just glad you're okay. Luckily, Xavier was able to save you in time" She furrowed her eyebrows.
"I wanted to ask about that. Did you remove the stake?" They both shook their head.
"It's still there but somehow, he was able to appear in your room. That stake should make him unable to use his powers" Aurora furrowed her eyebrows at her father's words. Then just how was Xavier able to get here?
"I hope you're okay, sister" Aurora abruptly turned to Veronica then furrowed her eyebrows, as if just noticing she was there.
"Why are you here?" Veronica rolled her eyes.
"Sorry for trying to be a good senior sister. I heard you tried to kill yourself so I wanted to make sure you were okay" Aurora furrowed her eyebrows. That didn't sound like what Veronica would do willingly at all.
"We'll go talk to the doctor. Veronica, watch over your sister, okay? And if she needs anything, tell us immediately" Veronica nodded then they both watched as their parents walked out of the room before Veronica turned to Aurora with a huge smile on her face.
"What is it?" Aurora questioned with a confused expression on her face.
"How do you know that handsome man? You said his name was Xavier? Who is he? Where did he come from?" Aurora frowned. Why was Veronica interested in Xavier?
"He's my friend and he's a demigod," Veronica scoffed.
"You friend? How can a handsome man like that be friends with someone like you? And demigods aren't real, Aurora. Tell me who he really is" Aurora's frown deepened then she sighed.
"Leave me alone, Veronica. I'm tired and I just want to rest" Veronica rolled her eyes.
"Just tell me where I can find him and I'll be on my way. I can't let such a man pass me by. He has to be the most handsome man I've ever seen. I must have him for myself" Aurora's eyes widened.
"What?" Veronica grinned.
"Just picture it. Him being mine and I being his. He'll become my Alpha, my mate, that's what I want. I want him for myself and I must have him" Aurora frowned.
"You can't" Veronica raised an eyebrow.
"And why can't I?"
"Because… because he's mine and I Like him" Veronica stared at her for a while without saying anything before bursting out laughing.
"You must be joking with me right now. Have you seen yourself in the mirror? How do you expect someone with godly looks like him to fall in love with someone like you? A sickly wolf. Besides, you're barely eighteen, Aurora. Find someone on your level" Aurora was hurt by her words but somehow, they were true. Xavier was way past her level.
"It doesn't matter. You'll never get to see him again and mother and father would never allow him to become your Mate or the Alpha of this pack" Veronica bent down a little so she was staring at Aurora straight in the eyes.
"When I become Luna, mom and dad won't be able to stop any of my decisions. I want him and you know I always get what I want. I'll make him fall in love with me first and then, he'll be the one begging to be my mate so get out of that little fantasy in your head, Aurora. As your elder sister, I would hate to see you get hurt"
