8.3 Sweet night

"Yeah, maybe we're going a bit too far and she's just desperate to get involved. Maybe she's just trying to spice up her life?" he added. "It's a shame, I really did consider her a friend... I'm a bit disappointed in her behaviour, I must admit."

"Oh, speaking of disappointment, she gave me a hard time!" suddenly remembered Yomo who had experienced the two hours of tutoring with Ange as torture. "She set me up with Ange! It was a setup so that bitch could spend time alone with me! Frankly, I didn't enjoy it at all!"

Nils laughed as Jin returned a shocked look.

"What? But she knows you're gay though?" he said as confused as his friend.

"Yeah, that's what I'm curious about! Why did she do that when she knows very well that I'm not interested in women?"

Nils gave him a sarcastic look.

"Maybe she's one of those people who thinks a person can change their sexual orientation with a little insistence?"

Yomo looked disgusted. He didn't even want to think about it. This kind of attitude and talk about sexual orientation revolted him. He'd been served up so many times that he couldn't stand the sterile discussions any longer.

"No, that's not like Neti," Jin shook his head. "She's thoughtful and we know her well enough to know she's not like that. Maybe it's something else? Who it is, we're not in people's heads! You can't know until you ask them."

Yomo nodded, determined.

"I'm going to talk to her about it the next time I see her."

"Welcome to the saga of Yomo going straight after giving in to the charms of the prom princess!" laughed Nils, who seemed determined not to talk about anything serious for the rest of the evening.

Yomo ruffled his hair and gently pushed him along. Nils didn't let him, and they went back to bickering. The band took a break and the passers-by dispersed after a well-deserved round of applause.

The three friends resumed their nightly wanderings, enjoying the warm atmosphere more than the event itself. They were about to leave the place for a drink when a woman's voice called out to Jin. They both turned around and saw a beautiful redheaded woman approaching their friend with a big smile on her face.

"Jin! Who thought I'd meet you here!"

She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a warm embrace that Jin could not resist. Yomo and Nils were watching the scene from a distance. They were intrigued. Jin rarely showed familiarity with people they didn't know themselves. So they were curious to know who this beauty was that had Jin wrapped around her little finger.

"Who do you think it is?" Nils said, low enough that their friend couldn't hear them.

"Mmmh..." mused Yomo. "Too much of a tease to be family..."

Nils nodded.

"Too casual to be an ex."

"He has exes?" Nils looked at him with round eyes.

Yomo stared at him for a moment, thinking. Now that he thought about it, he didn't know any of his friend's exes. Jin surely dated before, but Nils and he had simply never met them. Even more curious by their combined analysis, they turned back to their friend who was still talking. They watched the scene, unable to take their eyes off a very willing Jin. The same Jin who couldn't stand being hit on in the street and always refused the drinks offered to him. This Jin who made all the girls who chased after him go crazy. The same one was being led around by the nose by a beautiful young woman who had appeared out of nowhere. Of course, his friends were curious!

Then, the newcomer placed a sensual hand on the blue-eyed blond's forearm and stood on tiptoe to whisper a few words into his ear with a smile as tempting as a siren's song. In the front row of this most exciting scene, Yomo and Nils opened their eyes wide as they saw their friend let himself go and even nodded. He then turned to them and quickly approached.

"Go home without me, I'm busy tonight," he told them without further explanation.

"Okay, we won't bother you," Nils teased him.

Yomo just nodded his head with fried whiting eyes.

"Hey Jin, you can tell us all about it on Monday! There's no way out! We're not letting you go until you explain it to us!" he finally called out to him as his friend turned around after greeting them.

Jin nodded reprovingly, telling him to leave him alone.

"Hey, didn't he just tell me to fuck off?" Yomo was indignant.

"Yes, I think that's the idea," Nils confirmed.

They watched their friend walk away, the young woman hanging on his arm. After a while, they decided to go their own way to buy beer and watch yet another time "Fear City" at Nils' place to end the evening.
