16.4 Loneliness

Ellis took the opportunity to get up. With the back of his hand, he wiped his mouth open by the repeated blows. He approached Yomo, who seemed to be having trouble standing again.

"I remember," the mobster said, a half-smile stretching the corner of his mouth. "You're the brains of the little bugger's gang. You're the one who kicked Inja out of this goddamn town. That's you, right? I remember seeing your picture lying around on a desk,"

Yomo didn't answer. He was too busy fighting the migraine that was invading his brain to pay attention to what the big guy was saying. He vaguely understood what he said but did not react.

"I should be thanking you instead of beating you up like this," Ellis said. "Thanks to you that shrew lost her position as the boss's favourite. We owe you big time!"
