CHAPTER 5.

XAVIER'S POV:

Nico stood before me with his head bowed in remorse. "How could you let a girl outsmart you?!" I snapped and he flinched.

"I didn't know she was lying. She said she was having her period!" He said and I frowned.

"And she didn't have all the essentials she may need in her bathroom? Did you check?" I askd trying to contain my anger.

"She didn't let me into her room Sir."

I was so tempted to fire him. "That was the moment you're supposed to realize she was lying." I snapped.

"Get the hell out of my office!" I snapped. I'm already tired of yelling that phrase all the time.

"Get Laura to find out her whereabouts and send them to me now." I ordered as I grabbed my suit coat and car keys.

I got to my Silver Lamborghini just as a message got into my phone. I checked it and felt more furious than ever.

She's in a goddamn club. My wife was in a goddamn club with no one to look after her!

I didn't waste any more time as I got into my car and drove straight to Elite Club. Surprisingly they had to be at one of Jace's hotel clubs.

I walked past security ignoring everyone on the way. I cursed under my breath as my eyes scanned the crowd of people dancing. How the hell was I supposed to find her?

It wasn't so hard after all as I spotted her head of golden curls bobbing to the music. I made my way straight to her and grabbed her hand.

"Hey! Let go of me!" She slurred. Of course she was drunk.

"Come on. I'm taking you home." I stated and she glared at me.

"Get your hands off me. I'm an engaged woman." She snapped and I smirked. Seeing as I haven't given her a ring yet, it felt right to see where this would go.

"And where's your ring?" I asked.

She looked down before bringing her hand up with her middle finger standing out.

"It's meant to be here." She sassed and I smiled.

"Come on." I said and dragged her along.

"Wait! I'm here with my friend! If you're taking me home you have to take her too." She said.

"She'll find her way back." I said offhandedly and she pulled to an abrupt stop.

"Are you crazy? I'm not leaving without her." She said stubbornly. I sighed.

"Well, Where is she?" I asked looking around again.

"Who are you?" She suddenly asked and I looked down at her. Even in her heels, I was still taller than her.

"You don't remember?" I asked. She shook her head. Sad. She didn't remember me and we're about to be tied together for life.

"You have pretty eyes." She mumbled stumbling over her own feet. I smiled at that. No one has ever told me my eyes were pretty. all I hear about them are they are as steel as my heart.

"What does this your friend look like?" I asked.

"It's common courtesy to say thank you after a compliment." I blinked totally thrown off guard.

She pointed in a direction and sure enough Rissa Throne sat at one of the many bars flirting with...Jace??!

"Wait. I know that guy. He's Jace Norman. Friends with a certain douchebag that was at my house a few days ago." She said and started walked towards them.

Meanwhile, I was rooted to my spot. She just called me a douchebag!

I followed, not wanting to lose sight of her in the giant crowd.

"Quinn? Are you okay?" Her friend asked. She looked completely sober. Jace winked at me and I rolled my eyes.

"Yup! Never been better. Met this guy. Had a few drinks with me, shared a few kisses.."

I stopped listening after I heard that. I swiftly turned and pulled her by the waist flush against my chest.

"What did you just say?" I Asked lowly. She stared up at me confused.

"Hey! let go of her!" Rissa yelled.

"Stay away from this." I growled at her. She stared in shock. "Rissa? You see Xavier over here is Quinn's future dude." Jace explained and Rissa gaped in shock.

"You're the idiot she's being forced to marry?" She hissed and I glared at her. She wisely kept her mouth shut.

"Can you stop dragging me around like a piece of rag?" Quinn asked staring up at my face.

"Where is he? The guy you kissed?" I asked instead. She smirked.

"Right here."

I looked around again.

"Where?" I was growing impatient.

"In my head stupid. Fuck off." She snapped before pulling away but I held her in place.

"I'd watch my words if I were you." I whispered in her ear before taking her hand and leading her out of the club. Jace and Rissa followed behind us.

"Which one of you thought it would be a good idea to pull the period prank on Nico?" I asked once we we're outside.

"Why should I answer you?" Rissa asked.

"I did." Quinn chipped and Rissa palmed her face.

"Listen, I don't know who you are or what your plans are with Quinn but just know that if you even dare hurt her, I swear on his life, I will kill you." She pointed at Jace with a threat while her eyes were fixed on me.

"Great. It just has to me." He mumbled. I saw the ghost of a smile appear on Rissa's face but it vanished as quickly as it came.

"Take her home." I said.

Rissa took Quinn from me and steadied her.

"Bye Jackass!" She yelled as Rissa shushed her.

Once they were finally in their car and on their way, I made a call to Nico to make sure they got home safe.

"Damn. She's a lot to handle."

I sighed.

I was always up for a challenge. I was just afraid I might lose this time.
