SONIA ?
*
“Hey, Luci.” Dad called someone who was meters away from us.
Whosoever it was turned to our direction and guess what, it was Nomed.
“Dad, that’s the gentleman I told you about. “ I said in a whisper.
“ Oh! Indeed, he is a very good friend of mine.”
“Yeah, but. . . “
“Luci,” he smiled. “It’s nice to see you once again.” They hugged. “Here is my daughter, Sonia. “
“ We’ve met. “I rolled my eyes.
“ I didn’t forget that, sweetheart. “ He winked at me.
“ Hey,” I waved a smile at him. “ You told me your name was Nomed, why is my dad calling you Luci? “ I asked.
“ Actually, uhm… both are my names. The truth is, back then at high school, everyone did complain that Nomed sounded weird so. . . my mom had to name me Luci.” He explained.
“ Okay. So, Luci. . . how have you been?” I asked, changing the topic.
“ Good. Never thought we’d meet again.”
