CHAPTER 21

  Mrs. Acosta's remark embarrassed Elijah, so she bowed. Was she simply overreacting when she discovered that her father had another woman in his life? Is she being too selfish by not wanting her father to be happy with others? She is unaccustomed to the presence of another woman in his life. The only thing she desired was to keep him safe from the potential pain caused by what that woman could do.

  "Give your father the happiness he wants. He should be told he is too old for you in the middle of his love life. You know that people of that age love differently. So you are more careful about their feelings," said Mrs. Acosta.

  Elijah just nodded. Elijah leaned back in his chair after Mrs. Acosta and returned to his seat. It was late afternoon when Elijah heard a sound on his phone. So he quickly answered it because his nanny Mathilde called.

  "Hello, nanny Mathilde. Why?" she asked.
