CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

　　It was almost a week after the awful incident between Damien and Annie and everyone still talked about it at the office.

　　Annie dreaded every moment she spent at the office and looked for the perfect excuse to be away from the office when she had the chance. She couldn't get over the embarrassment she had received from him that fateful day.

　　Damien knew he was wrong to have treated her in that way but he was too proud to apologize to her. She should learn to mind her business, he thought. Though he had received enough tongue-lashing from Esme, he was adamant about going to apologize.

　　Damien had just finalized a meeting with one of his prominent clients and was about to see them off when he got a call from Steve, his private investigator.

　　"Hello, Mr. Reed"

　　"What do you have for me?" Damien asked, he wasn't interested in exchanging pleasantries with him, not after he had failed in providing useful information that could be used in tracing his mother's killers.
