CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

  The following morning, Annie was ready to hand over her resignation letter to him. She had spent the whole night drafting out the right words to use and ways to present the letter to him.

  Was she doing the right thing, was resigning the best option? These thoughts crossed Annie's mind as she stared at the resignation letter she was holding.

  "I hope you're doing the right thing?" Naomi said from behind. "I know he said hurtful things to you but that doesn't mean you have to give up your job because of that," she added.

  “I am, I can't continue like this. I'm human, Nao, I'm human.”

  “I know, but you still need to think this through so that you don't do something you might regret later,” Naomi said, trying to convince her.
