CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

　　Annie froze when she heard the masked man tell someone over the phone that Damien was dead. Tears rolled down her cheek as she saw him zoom out of the building. She took note of his plate number as he drove out. She saw him remove his mask but she only got a side view of what he looked like.

　　She rushed in and found him in a pool of blood whimpering and struggling to get up. He was losing consciousness when she walked in. She quickly applied pressure on his wound to stop the bleeding.

　　"Damien, wake up." She said to him, "help is on the way. Hold on a little bit".

　　She was going to call the emergency number but Damien refused.

　　"No, call my doctor and Steve," Damien said in a low tone. Annie quickly called them as he requested and continued to apply pressure on his wound until they arrived. Damien had already lost consciousness by the time his doctor arrived.

　　Damien's doctor began treatment immediately while Annie and Steve stepped out of the house to discuss.
