“Honey, you don’t look so well,” Madam Holsienne said to me while I sat up reluctantly in bed. “Were you actually asleep?”

I rubbed my head and said, “I, I think so. Weird.”

“How much wine did you drink last night?” Holsienne asked while digging through my armoire.

Jissabel soon entered and I replied, “None, I swear. I’d remember.”

“Would you now?” Holsienne laughed.

Jissabel asked, “Shall I prepare a bath?”

I shook my head and rubbed my upper chest for a few moments since I must’ve slept awkwardly. I was not used to sleeping so perhaps I was unfamiliar with the optimal positions. Then Holsienne asked, “Deary, when was the last time you bled?”

I looked at her with confusion.

“You know, bled from your…” Madam Holsienne said and pointed towards my waist.

“Oh, vampires, uh, don’t,” I replied, uncomfortable with the questioning.
