Call Her

It had been about two hours now. Arthur was laying on the sofa while I sat next to it on the floor.

I stood up, pushed him off, and sat down as he slid to the floor.

"Heeyyy." he grumbled as he fell face-first onto the floor.

"What hey? You were hogging up all the space." I said as I stretched my legs.

"Ugh." he grumbled and sat up straight.

"So, what should we do now? You went through all the games I have, not that it was many, but still." I said looking down at his face with a grimace.

He groaned and layed down on the floor. He stayed in that position for a bit then sat up again.

"Where's Pearl anyway?" he asked staring at me intently.

"She's with her friends... Probably." I answered as I stretched my arms.

"Call her." he said.

"Huh?" I looked over at him.

"Call her." he repeated. "Are you going deaf?" he said he raised his hands to his ears.

"I'm not gonna call her, she could be driving right now or something. And I'm fine." I said and slapped his hands which he had brought over to my face.

"C'mon, call her." he said firmly as he layed down on the floor again.

"No." I responded.

"Why not?" he questioned looking up at me.

"Because..." I started and then closed my eyes in frustration at my lack of words.

"Well?" he said in a teasing tone as he sat up again. "Go on."

"Ugh. Fine, I'll call her." I said in surrender and sat up straight.

"Yeah!" Arthur yelled as he threw his hands up in the air.

I got off the couch and walked over to the table. Picking up my phone, I turned it on and dialed Pearl's number.

The phone beeped next to my ear as the call got picked up.

"Put it on speaker. " Arthur said as he sat down next to the table.

I put it on speaker and set it on the table. I sat down next to Arthur.

{What do you want? I'm driving Matthew.} Pearl said over the phone.

"Who's Matthew?" I asked, dumbfounded.
