It was almost 1 a.m now.
I sat up straight and looked ahead at the door with an exhausted sigh.
At work today, I thought it would be awkward when I got home with what had happened that morning, but it was even more uncomfortable than I had thought.
David hadn't even tried to come into the room since I had returned and I was finding it so hard to fall asleep with everything that had been on my mind.
Getting out of bed, I walked out of the room and went downstairs to the kitchen.
Picking up a glass, I filled it with water and sat down at the table.
Just as I was about to take a sip, my phone started ringing.
Taking it out of my pocket, I answered the call and put the phone to my ear.
{Hey. Sorry, did I wake you up?} June said with a yawn.
"No, I was already awake. What do you need?" I asked as I chugged down all the water and put the glass down on the table.
{Well, I was thinking. We haven't had a sleepover in a bit, so wanna come over tomorrow?} June asked.
"June, we have work the day after tomorrow." I said with a stern tone.
{I know! We should have more holidays.} June said with a small laugh.
"Ugh, fine. Bye now, I gotta go to sleep." I said with a small sigh and hung up.
Standing up, I put the glass away and went back upstairs to the room.
Sitting down on the bed, my phone dinged and lit up to show that June had sent me a message.
It just said that she had texted Vanessa about the sleepover. Just then she sent me another message.
It was good night sticker. She also sent a heart after that.
Closing my phone, I put it under my pillow and layed down in my place.
I was asleep a couple of minutes after I just lay there and tried to calm my aching head.
I woke up exhausted the next morning. Maybe it was my lack of sleep, was what I thought as I stared at my breakfast some time later.
