Genocide, war, the death of millions, the threat of nuclear war, entire bloodlines wiped from the face of the world… these were the transgressions made in the past by the leaders of the world. Until one leader purposed a solution, to create a dome on an island in international waters that would serve the purpose of housing the disputes between nations. The dome would act as a battle ground for whatever nations that wished to go to war. However instead of hundreds losing their lives, only an elite few would fight in the name of their prospective countries. Rules would be put in place throughout the making of the dome. It became less on who won and more about the skills each person inside the dome possessed that would lead a country to victory. Although the leaders of the world laughed and ridiculed the man who purposed the idea, the people called for changed and the dome was created. In the beginning the leaders struggled to decide who would over see and run the dome during times of war, a neutral party would have to be chosen. The UN offered their best leaders to over see the issues but eventually it turned to someone more mysterious that had no interest in who wins or lose. This mysterious man became known as 'the king of the dome' and asked for nothing in return for his services to the world. Although the country leaders were suspicious of the dome king it became apparent that he wanted nothing more then to watch the fighting unfold. perhaps for his own sick pleasures. Thus the Dome wars began, changing how the world viewed war, and how countries managed disputes. The people themselves were over joyed at the fact that war would no longer knock on their door step and take the lives of their children. They were happy the lands would no longer be unusable because of nuclear war. The people were happy to not have to pay the large taxes that came along with the cost of war. The leaders were content with the negotiations and swift battles that took place on their behalf. They were pleased with the results that came from the dome and the stability their countries now had. All seemed just and right with the world after the dome was created. The king of the dome was fair and swift with his judgement. He did not interfere with the battles as long as the rules were followed. He also upheld any negotiations that were agreed upon after each dome war. The rules of the dome wars were simple. The countries at war would bring three of their most elite warriors, they could also bring three warriors from an allied country that supported their efforts. The wars consisted of two rounds, firstly, the allied countries fighters against each other, then the countries at war would fight in the final battle, with the last country standing as the winner. Negotiations were done before the wars began and upheld in the winners favor. All disputes would be considered settled and dropped honoring the dome war results. Lastly, and most importantly, no guns were allowed. Only through skill alone could you prove your countries worth. Some thought that this new way of war would eventually bring peace among the nations. Ushering in a new era where war was no longer something that needed to happen even within the dome. Some also thought that the dome would cause more rifts between countries. With each country only focusing on training the best warriors for battle and attempting to seize control over the dome itself.
However, those were questions that only the future could answer.
