Liliana's pov
"So what do you think I should do" Owen asks me
"Ask her out. You both like each other, so you might as well give things a chance and see how they go" I say. Owen is just as unsure of how to approach things with Amelia as she is, so whenever I call him about things at work we end up talking about him and her.
"Okay, where do you think I should ask her to go. Where did Avery take you on your first date" he asks
"We just went to Joe's, but that is obviously not an option with Amelia, so how about you take her to Altura. Jackson and I love it there. It's a nice romantic Italian restaurant and I know Amelia would like it" I say
"Okay. You really think I should ask her out" he asks
"Yeah, this isn't high school. You are adults who have feelings for each other, so instead of trying to deny it, just go for it" I say
"You're right" he sighs
"Of course I am. I've been gone for 2 months and I've turned into the relationship guru who can help everyone, but herself" I sigh
"Things still not good with you and Avery" he asks
"Nope" I sigh
"I'm sorry" he says
"No, it's fine, don't apologize. We'll be fine, it's just going to take some time for us to figure things out" I say
"Yeah, I know you two will get through it" he says
"Yeah, we will" I nod "Well I will call you back later. I am about to go for a run" I sigh
"Okay, I'll talk to you later" he says
"Okay, bye" I say before hanging up, then leaving the house. Every morning lately I've been going running, it really helps me clear my mind and it puts me in a good mood. The park isn't to far away so it doesn't take me long to arrive. Once I get there I put my headphones on as I start jogging. I was about 15 minutes in when I felt someone approaching me and I looked over and saw Liam.
"Hey" I smile as I stop running and take my headphones out
"Hey you. This is a nice surprise, seeing you here" he smiles
"Yeah, I normally come for a jog around this time just to clear my mind" I sigh as we take a seat on a near by bench
"Yeah, I like to come here too. I normally come earlier, before I go into work but I had today off, since my parents are coming into town this evening" he says
"Really, that's nice. I know you're excited to see them" I smile
"Yeah, I can't wait. I'm always happy to the see them. Maybe you could join us for dinner one night while they're in town" he says
"Liam, we already discussed this. I really don't think us having dinner is a good idea" I sigh
"Come on, it isn't like it'll be just the two of us. My parents will be there and you know they would love to see you and it's the least you could do after pretty much completely ignoring me for the past 2 weeks" he smirks
"I have not been ignoring you, I've just been busy" I lie. After we ran into each other at the cafe, Liam texted me a couple of times. I replied once, but the other times I didn't just because I don't want to give him any impression of us being more then friends. I mean I don't feel like Liam would ever do anything to disrespect me or my marriage, but things with Jackson and I are already not the best so I don't want to take any chances of adding any extra drama to our relationship.
"Okay that's understandable, but I still would really like for you to come have dinner with us. My mom is going to be cooking her best Italian dishes tomorrow, you know how much you always loved her cooking and my parents would really love to see you" he says
"Okay, I will come to dinner tomorrow" I agree. I guess it won't hurt anything for me to go to dinner and catch up with Liam's parents. They were always really nice people and they treated me like their own daughter during college.
"Thank you, they are going to be so happy to see you" he smiles
"No problem, just text me with the details" I smile
"Okay, I will" he nods
"Okay, well I will talk to you later. I need to finish up my workout" I say
"Okay" he smiles, before I get up and start back running. I had a feeling I would run into Liam again soon, I just didn't think it would be this soon. I finish my workout a short while later then I head home and take a shower before eating a granola bar. I try to call Jackson, but of course I get no answer so I put my phone on the charger before laying down to take a nap. I was completely exhausted so I ended up sleeping for a couple of hours and by the time I woke up Derek was just getting home.
"Derek Shepherd, why do you hate me I sigh dramatically. Derek insisted on me joining him in the kitchen to help him cook dinner this evening even though I do not enjoy cooking at all.
"I don't hate you. You said you wanted to learn how to cook, so I am teaching you" he laughs
"I also want to learn French, are you going to teach me that too" I joke
"Come on we've cooked together for holidays before and it was fun" he smiles
"No, you cooked and I kept you company and occasionally pretended to operate on the food" I say
"Okay you have a point, but that's all going to change today" he says
"Fine, what are we cooking Shepherd" I ask walking over to him so we can start
"Chicken Alfredo" he says
"Sounds difficult" I say
"Believe me it's not, all we have to do starting off is put a pot of water on the stove and wait for it to start boiling then we add the noodles" he says
"Okay, that sounds simple enough" I say as we begin cooking. "The first time Jackson cooked for me he cooked chicken alfredo. It was on the night he asked me to be his girlfriend" I smile thinking about the memory
"Really" he smiles
"Yeah, he cooked this big dinner for me, then at the end he told me how lucky he was to have me in his life and how much I meant to him, before he asked to make things official" I say
"You miss him don't you" he asks
"Of course. When I made the decision to leave it wasn't to get away from him, it was because I didn't like the person I was turning into and I needed to find myself and be happy again, which I couldn't do in Seattle and I'm so glad that I made the decision to leave and come here because I am starting to feel content again, but that doesn't make me not miss Jackson. I mean he's my husband, my better half" I sigh
"Are you two still not talking" he asks
"Not really. I mean I call but he ignores me most of the time. I'm lucky if he even replies to my text. I understand that he's upset, but I didn't expect for things to be like this" I sigh
"Things aren't going to be like this forever. You two are going through a rough patch, but he's going to forgive you, just give him time" he says
"I really hope you're right" I sigh
