forty-one

all standing at the Nurse's station in the main lobby.  Dr. Webber spoke, "I love the new logo. It really catches the eye, and uh," He gestured to the cup of coffee he was having, "These coffee sleeves—excellent thermal retention."

Derek nodded before pointing to a random sheet on the wall behind Jackson, "What's up with the sheet?'

Jackson shrugged, "I thought you guys put it up there for some kind of unveiling."

"No." Allison spoke, reaching the group, as she stared at the white sheet.

"Well, somebody should say a few words, right?" Dr. Webber suggested, "I mean, it's unlucky not to."

Callie and Arizona came in and joined the group, "Hey." Arizona asked, "Why are you guys staring at the wall?"

"Oh, We're waiting for the big...unveiling." Cristina responded.

Callie gestured to Arizona, "Well, you should be staring at my wife."

Meredith looked over, "New haircut?"

"No. It's her leg. She's wearing high heels." She turned Arizona over, "Because she has a sexy high-heel leg that makes her ass go pow."

Arizona moved her hip to the side as the girls complimented Arizona. Callie nodded and looked at the guys, "Come on, guys. You can comment too. You have permission. It's one time in your life you can say it."

Derek shook his head and laughed, as Jackson looked at Arizona and nodded. Webber tried to compliment her but was awfully bad at it, causing Allison to quietly chuckle.

Arizona pointed at the wall, "Yeah. Let's just focus on the unveiling"

"I think the painters actually left that there." Jackson walked up to the wall and gripped the sheet and ripped it down as everyone looked at the frame.

"Oh, okay." Cristina said, turning around to leave.

"End of speech."

"Awesome." Cristina commented as she looked at the magazine in her hand. "We are awesome." She walked up to the rest of her friends, "Did you see our picture in this?"

Allison nodded, "We are awesome."

"I'm at 28 weeks and I'm worried about DiGeorge syndrome." Meredith sighed.

"DiGeorge?" Alex asked, "There's like, what, a 1 in 100,000? It's too rare. Most likely it'll have a cleft palate or a heart defect."

"Wait, if your baby has a heart defect, I will fix it." Cristina said, her eyes on the magazine.

Meredith exhaled, "What about phenylketonuria?"

"No." Alex shook his head, "We screen for that at birth and treat it with diet."

"What about a giant hemangioma? Like a huge, out-of-control bloodsucker."

Alex pointed his pen at Meredith, "Now that's a possibility, or maybe a congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation."

"Again." Cristina spoke, "I will operate and do a lung transplant. We own a hospital—a cutting edge, research oriented hospital with an advanced level I trauma center." She read out loud from the magazine, "Whatever's wrong with your baby, we will fix it."

"But you agree." Meredith sighed, "There's something wrong."

"Nothing is wrong, Mer." Allison assured her friend, "You're worried, and that's fine, but your baby is healthy."

"Hey, I got your page." Allison walked inside the C.T. room, as she sat down next to Ross. The scans came up on the screen as Allison observed them, "Right frontal lobe hemorrhage."

"That could be why she's perseverating." Ross nodded at the doctors.

"Oh cool." Brooks spoke as she stood at the doorway of the room, causing them to turn their heads to look at her, "Is that an epidural hemorrhage?" Seeing as no one answered she quickly apologized.

"What do you need, Brooks?" Derek asked, seeing as he already had Ross as his intern on the case.

"Well, Chief Hunt says I need to learn brainy things. So I'm with you guys today." She smiled.

"You need to keep an eye on Rachel's I.C.P. update me with any changes." Derek informed Ross, as the four doctors walked to the nurse's station.

"Will do. Anything else?"

"Yes, Brooks, think fast." Derek threw a marker behind him, while Brooks easily catches it.

Ross corrected himself, "Anything else medically?"

"A neuro exam every two hours." Allison nodded, as Derek continued to throw things at Brooks, "Contact me or Shepherd if there are any signs of Herniation or a new Hemorrhage."

"Of course I'll take Zola and the new baby." Allison nodded at Derek with a smile, since Meredith wanted them to update their will.  "Don't ship them off to wherever your sisters are from."

Derek looked at her, "You and Cristina." Derek corrected, "Meredith is asking Cristina and I'm asking you."

"We will both take good care of both your kids." Allison said, "something were to happen to both of you, which won't."

Derek sighed, "I know."

Allison looked in front of her, "I wish I had what you have. A family."

"You do." Derek stated wrapping his arm around her shoulder, "You're Aunt Allie."
