⇢ CHAPTER 36 ; EXTRAS

started as the group walked away from seeing Lexie almost puke from having to treat her patient with warts covering his body, "how old were you your first time?"

"Fifteen." Alex answered, "School nurse, back of her car."

"Fifteen?" Jackson nods as Holly sits down on the chair at the nurse's station, "That's impressive."

"When I was sixteen, she taught me how to drive that same car." Alex continued, making Meredith laugh and Holly pull a face.

Holly cringed, "Ew."

"Sophomore in high school, Paul Waxman," Meredith began, "had absolutely no idea what he was doing."

"Mm." Cristina hummed, placing her head on her palm.

"Junior prom," Jackson shared, "Sarah Richardson and Penny Caraway, together."

Alex whistled and Holly laughed, "No way."

Jackson nodded, "I knew exactly what I was doing."

Cristina frowned her eyebrows, showing the group she didn't believe him before sharing her own story, "Nineteen."

Alex questioned, "Nineteen?"

"Mm-hmm." Cristina confirmed, "I was very focused on my studies. It was my Chem T.A. He was a whole head shorter than me, but..." She clicked her tongue, "man, he was smart."

April, who was uncomfortable throughout the entire conversation, began to walk away until Jackson called out, "Hey, April."

Holly reached over and lightly hit Jackson's arm to tell him to stop as April responded, "I'm not talking about this. It was a private--private memory."

"What happened," Alex asked, "did the guy die?"

Holly rose her hand briefly before playing around with the pen in her hand, "My guy died."

Meredith glared at Alex, "Alex."

"Oh," Cristina added with a laugh, "did it last, like, three seconds, so you don't know if it counted?"

April scoffed, "No."

Cristina walked to the back of the Nurses Station, "Mm-hmm."

"Uh..." April looked away, trying to come up with a fake moment, "It was on the beach at sunset. It was beautiful."

Meredith and Jackson lightly laughed as Jackson questioned, "Sunset?"

"Yeah." April nodded.

"Really?" He frowned his eyebrows, "Weren't--weren't there people there?"

"Oh, on the beach?" Cristina asked, "Man, you get sand up in places you don't want to get sand."

"Mosquitos." Alex added and Holly noticed April beginning to drown in her lie, "Is she lying, Holly?"

"No." Holly shook her head, "I remember April coming back and telling me all about it-- she, uh, went to a private beach. I-It was pretty isolated, so no one really went over there."

"Really?" Jackson interrogated, knowing Holly was lying, "An isolated beach?"

Holly looked down at the pen she played with as April backed away slowly, "Yeah."

"Mm-hmm. Yeah."  Cristina nodded.

"Ha!" Alex clapped his hands, pointing at April, "You're a virgin."

"No, I'm not." April denied, her voice becoming higher.

"Oh, my God." Cristina gasped, "You are!"

Jackson laughed, "She is."

"No, she isn't." Holly rolled her eyes.

"Give up the act, Kepner." Alex waved a hand at Holly.

"Oh, my God." Cristina teased, pushing Alex, "Do it. Do it. Do it to her right now. Alex, go deflower her. Do it. Do it."

"Oh, don't be disgusting." Holly scrunched up her nose, waving her hand at them.

"It was-- It was on the beach at sunset, okay?" April demanded.

"Okay, leave her alone." Meredith said after hiding her laugh behind her hand, "April," She nodded, "the beach at sunset is very nice." April smiled tightly as Holly stood up from the chair.

She stood next to Jackson as she smacked his arm and whispered, "Don't be a jackass, Jackson."

"Come on. Just admit it." Alex pried, "You're still a virgin."

Holly rolled her eyes, finishing her lemonade at Joe's bar as April shook her head, "No, I'm not."

"Hey, there's no shame in it." Jackson added.

"Really?" April perked her head up.

"No," Jackson shook his head, "there's shame."

Holly rolled her eyes again as she got up, "I'm getting another drink." She flicked Jackson in the head and whispered as she passed, "Jackass."

"A lot of shame." Alex continued once Holly left, "Tell her, Mer."

"I," Meredith stopped herself, "um..." Jackson and Alex laughed at her drunkenness, "I was gonna say something, and then I forgot to stop drinking." She looked around, "Has anybody seen Cristina?"

"Okay." Lexie started as she sat down next to Meredith, "So today only one person looked at me like a psycho who might down the hall naked, and Dr. Bailey screamed like a little bitch baby over a spider," She looked at Jackson since the two had been in the O.R. together and laughed, "so I'm feeling pretty good, you know, for a crazy person."

"Well," Jackson shrugged, "nobody gives a crap if you're crazy. We're all crazy."

"Yeah," Alex held in a laugh as he ate a peanut, "look at April. She's still a virgin."

The group laughed, making April seethe in anger as Lexie spoke, "Yeah, well, Mark gives a crap, okay?" She complained, "He stares at me like I'm a menace to myself and everyone around me. Wait." She laughed, "You're still a virgin? What?"

The rest laughed as well before April exploded, "Stop. Okay? Just stop. I'm a virgin. Yes." She nodded, "So what? It's not something I talk about, okay? We all have things we don't talk about." She brought her tongue to the top of her mouth before beginning, "Alex, you've been afraid of the elevator for, like, a month, but I never said anything because it's none of my business. And," She looked over at Jackson, "Jackson, you sleep with Holly every night because if you don't you'll wake up at night screaming because you have nightmares and I'm half convinced you like her. And, Meredith," She looked at her as Jackson looked down, "you don't talk about Cristina because you're afraid she's never gonna be the same Cristina again. And, Lexie..." April laughed, "for God sake, Mark never thought you were a psycho. He loves you. That's why he stares at you. Because he can't keep his eyes off the woman he loves. Of course, he's never gonna say anything 'cause he doesn't feel like he can. Look, we all have stuff we don't talk about." She exhaled deeply, "I am a twenty-eight-year-old virgin, mainly because I wanted my first time to be special, and then I waited too long, and partially because I'm pretty sure guys find me annoying. I'm a virgin. That doesn't make it drinks conversation. We all have stuff we don't talk about."

April chugged the rest of her drink as the group sulked and Holly approached the group with two drinks in her hands, "Hey!" She chuckles, placing a drink in front of April, "Right on time." She sat down next to April and noticed the looks of the group, "...What'd I miss?"

"Oh, April." Meredith smiled, "I'm liking you more and more."

April looked down, "Thank you."

Holly looked at the group, "What'd I miss?"

"So," Holly smiled, bumping her arm against Lexie's as she caught up with her and began to walk down the hall, "did you make up with my sister yet?"

Lexie had grown a strong dislike towards April upon finding out Meredith shared a few personal details about Meredith's own life to April instead of her. So, Lexie had grown a bit jealous of April's relationship with her sister-- but after having a conversation with Meredith, she realized her anger towards April was actually towards Meredith, but all anger was defused after the conversation.

"Or do you still hate her?" Holly added.

Lexie squinted, "I didn't hate her." Lexie paused, "Okay, maybe I hated her for a second but I made up with her." She nodded before shrugging, "I still don't want to live in the attic, though."

Holly rolled her eyes, "I'll take the attic if you hate it so much."

"Really?" Lexie smiled, her eyes brightening before sighing, "Nah, I can't let you live in that hole."

"Why do you hate it so much?" Holly frowned her eyebrows, "The view there is nice-- just open a window."

"It's dusty." Lexie scrunched up her nose.

Holly looked back at her again, "Then open a window."
