CHAPTER XVI

"Then goodnight Lumiere. My room is just next to yours"

Before I could leave, he hold my hands and I looked back.

"Please don't leave.... I'm scared"

Eh?

I kneel at him and looked at him.

"My mother and I was always together... My mother and I always sleep together so..."

It must be hard for him, poor child.

"Okay wait me in your room okay? I'll wash up and go to your room. Let's sleep together"

His face brightens as he nodded his head.

As I entered my room, it was dark. I opened the lights as I was shocked when Reeves was behind me and hugged me at the back.

"You scared me to death!"

"Haha did I?"

He started sniffing me and then began licking my neck.

"Hnnggh—we can't Reeves"

He continue licking it as he licked my right ears and bite it.

"Hnggghhh—we can't!"

I immediately stopped him as I looked back and faced him.

"I will sleep with your son tonight, I already promised"

"What? But—"

"No buts—I know you still doubt him, but like i've said he's really your son. And he's a pitiful child. So we can't do it right now"

He frowned as I kissed him on the lips then smiled.

"You know, if I were you. You must start taking care of him right now. He needs you right now"

I go to the bathroom and wash myself. When I opened the door, Reeves is no longer there. He maybe returned to his room. After I put on my pajamas, I go to Lumiere's room.

While sleeping next to him, he held my hands as he closed his eyes.

"Good night, Lumiere"

"Yes, good night too... Kyen-nii san"

The next morning, I woke up only to find out Lumiere is not next to me. I got up and returned to my room then washed up. Maybe he came to the dining hall and have breakfast. As I go to the dining hall, I saw Lumiere together with Reeves.

"Good morning Kyen"

Reeves glanced at me then smiled.

"Yes good morning too. Good morning Lumiere, did you have a good night sleep?"

Lumiere looked at me then nodded his head. I sat next to him then started eating. After a few moments, Reeves started the conversation.

"About the biological test, it was confirmed."

I glanced at him then laughed.

"Seriously you! Haha! You really go that far just to confirm it?! Hahahaha!"

"Tsk, I just want to confirm. Anyways, I never thought about this. I always have a one night stand before but i'm always careful about it"

"Now that I think about it. Maybe you still have children among womens."

"No-no that's not possible. Besides his mother is a different case. I did some research last night and find out that, Lumiere's mother took me a drug and seduced me. I was not in the right mind at that time."

I was rather shocked at Reeves' confession.

"Anyways, there's nothing we can do about it. The most important thing to do is to teach this child."

Lumiere glanced at Reeves.

"From now on, call me father if you don't want to be kick out!"

How bossy. I shook my head as I glanced at Lumiere, he seems to not like Reeves.

"No!"

Lumiere shouted.

"You!—"

"Lumiere, from now on you're staying from your father. Don't you want to? You have to adress him as your father. There must be many things that Reeves is lacking but he's still your father, so you must obey him okay?"

He nodded his head.

"I understand Kyen-nii san"

"Then that's good"

I patted his head as I looked at my rolex and saw that i'm late.

"Oh, i'm late!"

"Then let's go"

I shook my head then smiled at Reeves.

"No, i'm going alone. You don't have to send me off everyday. And besides, you'll be busy these past few days. You have to make it up with Lumiere"

He frowned as he shook his head and stand up and came to me. He kiss me in the forehead and hugged me tightly.

"Then, i'll miss you. Come back home early, understand?"

I chuckled.

"Yes"

Lumiere hold my hand.

"Kyen-nii san where are you going?"

"I'm going to work. Stay at home and be good okay? Don't cause problems to your father"

He nodded his head as I kneel down and hugged him. After that, the butler gave me a ride to my company. It was a normal busy day, after work I immediately take a ride and come home before evening.

After I arrived at the mansion, Lumiere came running towards me and hugged me tightly.

"I missed you Kyen-nii san!"

"Haha yes, I miss you too"

"You came back earlier than I expected"

I glanced at Reeves then smiled.

"Yeah, I was excited since there's a child waiting for me at home"

"Now that's unusual"

I chuckled.

"Now i'll cook dinner for us tonight!"

Later, that night I cooked a filipino dish called "Chicken Adobo". Lumiere and Reeves like it very much that everytime they take a bit, there similar expression at their face made me happy.

They are really look similar to each other.

A week has passed and today is Sunday. Lumiere wanted to visit his mother and I agreed to him. The three of us were at the hospital when the doctor run immediately towards the room which Lumiere's mother was hospitalized.

"What's happening?"

"Sorry sir but something dangerous happened to the patient!"

The doctor apologized as he excused himself together with the others and they do a cpr to Lumiere's mother but it was already too late.

Lumiere's expression just broke out. I immediately hugged him tightly as he cried at my shoulder. Lumiere's mother has no relatives nor family. She grew up in an orphan, that's why she's so desperate to Reeves. She must've planned to use Reeves to get rich and get money. But at the end, she changed and regreted his past actions.

But it was too late. His body were cremated as Lumiere was holding onto that vase of his mother's cremated body tightly. It was very fast that I didn't know it was already past three days and I take my work for three days. When I came to my senses, I immediately excused myself to Reeves as I came back to work.

When I came back, there are mountains of documents I have to work out. When I came home, I ask Reeves about Lumiere's condition but he just said that Lumiere stayed at his room for a whole day. At that time, there was a sudden urgent at Reeves' business.

He excused himself as he said that it would take for a few more days.

"Don't worry, just do it. I will take care of Lumiere"

He hugged me tightly and kissed me on the lips.

"Haa, many things happened since Lumiere came home. Now I would be far away with you for a past days. I will miss you"

I chuckled.

"It can't be helped. I will miss you too."

"I love you"

He kissed me on my forehead.

"I love you too Reeves"

I knocked three time at Lumiere's room but no one answered.

"I'm coming in, Lumiere."

I came in while holding the tray of food. I placed it at the side table and sat next to him. He was covering himself with a blanket.

"Lumiere..."

I touched him.

"Lumiere you have to eat, if your mother will see you at this state she won't be happy."

After a few more seconds, he removed his blanket as he sat at his bed. His eyes were red from crying.

"Here, you have to eat this. Isn't this your favorite? Fried chicken? I cooked it for you so eat up okay?"

He looked at me then after a few more seconds he began to spoke.

"Kyen-niss san's... Eyes... Are beautiful"

I smiled.

"But your eyes is more beautiful"

I patted his head. He began eating the food I cooked for him and after that, I washed him for myself. He became more skinny after his mother passed away.

Poor child.

"Lumiere, you have to eat more or you won't grow up and have a perfect body like your father!"

He glanced back at me.

"Does Kyen-niss san like father's body?"

I was taken a back. Wow, this kid...

"Well... I can't deny that fact"

"Then, i'll eat more!"

I smiled.

"That's good, our Lumiere is such a good child"

It's already evening, and I haven't check my phone for a while now. Anyways, it's been four days since Reeves left. But Lumiere got better than I expected. Since, I don't want to leave him all alone at the mansion. He has also a social anxiety, he's afraid to approach strangers so I take him with me.

At those four days, the workers were curious about him so I explained them thoroughly that he's my friends son. And that I became a babysitter because my friend got an emergency business and was currently in a far away place.

"I'm tired"

It's a good thing that Lumiere learned to sleep by himself now, he's now sleeping alone at his room. That's a good step...

I landed myself at my wide bed and glanced at the ceiling.

I miss Reeves.

Then I heard a creek noise from the door that made me jumped off from my bed.

"Who's there?!?"

The door opened and the light turned on.

"Reeves?!?"

"I thought you're already asleep."

I walked to him and hugged him tightly.

"Geez you surprised me! Ha, I missed you"

"Yeah I came back sooner than I expected"

"Did you already finish your work?"

He chuckled.

"Of course!"

After a few more seconds, I noticed that he's looking away while his face is blushing.

"Ha-happy birthday. I 'm sorry I could've prepared"

What? Today is my birthday?

He glanced at me.

"Why are you not saying anything?"

"Oh! It's just that, i've totally forgotten after what happened these passed few days. And all i'm thinking about is Lumiere and you"

He chuckled.

"You're too nice for your own good"

I glared at him as he started kissing me.

It was already morning. As I opened my eyes, flasback came running into my mind.

Yeah, after a long time. We did it, but it's more rough than what I expected and how many times did we did it?! Argggk! My back hurts like hell!

I glanced at Reeves and touch a peck of his hair and then smiled.

"How can you be so handsome even when you're still sleeping?"

Afrer a few more seconds, he opened his eyes as he looked at me then smiled. Then he got up ang took something out from his clothes.

"Close your eyes"

"?"

As I was curious, I obeyed him and closed my eyes. After I few more moments, I felt a cold metal that's attached at my ring finger.

"You can open now"

As I opened my eyes, it was a ring. I don't know how to react but. I was speechless. The ring is simple yet it shines brightly. It was a pure sliver ring that has a small diamond.

"R-reeves... Y-you"

"I know, that there's still many things that i'm lacking. I know you're still not ready but—i'll wait. I'll definitely wait, until you're ready."

I nodded my head as I started to cry then hugged him tightly.

"Kyen—nii chan, Belated Happy birthday... I'm sorry I couldn't greet you yesterday. I didn't know..."

I shook my head as I patted his head.

"It doesn't really bother me"

"How was your study?"

I saw that Lumiere glanced at Reeves then make a frowned face.

"A-ah maybe he's still not used having private tutors. Reeves you shouldn't pressured your son"

Reeves shook his head.

"I know, but I can't just do nothing. He has to learn new things and adopt it. Since he's my son, he's also has a responsibility to take"

"Kyen-nii chan, i'll be going now. My class will start soon"

Lumiere excused himself as I saw his dejected expression. It's been a month since Lumiere came here, and the father-son relationship is still not improving.

I'm worried about the two of them.
